I can not believe it. I got approved. I thought for sure they would deny it because I was lacking some days on my supervised diet. My date for my surgery is Oct. 18th. I could have scheduled it sooner but I do not have the money yet. I am pretty sure I will ahve the money by then. I am excited but nervous at the same time. Wow I just can not believe it is here. I really never thought I would be able to get it. I am so happy.

Not much has been going on with me. I ws doing so good about not drinking any soda and no added surgar at all. I ws using splenda on things that I could absolutely not stand without something. I actually wasnt drinking anything except water. well I got sick and was so sick for about 3 weeks. I couldnt bare to even think of water so I drank sprite which is what I always go to when my stomach is sick. Now I am having a hard time going back to water. I am trying so hard. I still do not drink as much as i did but it is still more than I want to. I drink about 1/4 of a can of pepsi a day right now. I am pushing to get rid of even that. I am still staying away from the sugars. Well My weigh in for this month was bad. I dd not lose any weight. Of course I did not gain either. My doctor said sometimes this happens and not to get discouraged. The surgeons office put in for approval with my insuance company. Like I said before though I figure it will come back denied because i need at least 180 days and I do not have it yet. Well thats my update. I will update again as soon as I can.

I just wanted to update since I havent been on here as much. I had my blood work done and I guess my Vitamin D level was 24 and they say thats low so I have to take a vit. D3 pill for 8 weeks and then recheck the levels. I am worried that they will make me wait to have surgery till after this 8 weeks. I am going to be done with my supervised diet next week and I was hoping to have surgery next month sometime. If its any later than next month I will have to wait till the begining of the year because my husband cant take off after october. That will totally suck if I have to wait. So for the last 2 month I have been going to the gym and for this last month I have been taking a Zumba class. I started taking one class a week then went to 2 a week and now this week I am doing 3. Its a lot of work but I love it. I had a class on monday, wednesday and now friday which is today. I like my gym pretty good and go about 5  days a week. I dont know how much I have lost this month because I havent been to the doc yet. I go next week. I will update again then.

My psych appointment went very well and I am relieved to have it done. Also yesterday I had my blood work done along with my xray and EKG. I am glad they are done also. I told the guy when he went to take my blood that my veins in my arms were awful and he should take it from my hands. He said no because he had to get 17 vials and most people hands wont give that much blood. Well he poked me and fished for a vein which hurt so bad. Then he gave up and finally did my hand and got all 17 vials with no problems. He told me that my veins in my hand were really good. I already knew that but they never listen. I am all bruised up now on that arm. Anyway I have one more appointment with Dr. Huyhn on Sept. 9th then I can submit to insurance for approval. I cant wait. Well That's my update. I will update again after my next appointment on the 9th of Sept.

So I am almost done with my supervised diet. They say I only have one more weigh in after this one tomorrow. So next month around the 8th will be my last weigh in. By then I should have everything done and ready to be submitted to the insurance company. Well I went on vacation the week before last and went to Atlanta for 2 days so my hubby and son could go to a Braves game. Me and the girls went to the aquarium and we all had a lot of fun. We then went to West Virginia to visit family. We all enjoyed it and was glad to get to see everyone. Well I didnt do too bad on my diet while I was there. I did eat things I shouldnt have but its things that I dont want to eat after surgery. I ate some pizza that I will really miss, some hot dogs that you cant get anywhere else, and some pepperoni rolls with cheese from a place that makes the best ones. I did minimize how much of those I ate though so it wasnt too bad. I also made sure to only drink my water. I exercized like crazy in atlanta because i had to walk more than a mile dow and then straight up a huge hill just to get to the aquarium. I dont think I did too bad though. Anyway I will update again probably after my psych visit on friday.

I was dreading last month because I figured I had gained because it was my birthday and I ate tings I shouldn't have plus all month I was not eating properly. Well I hadn't gained I actually lost a pound. I am happy about that and I am pretty much back on track this month. I am now working out at a gym and it makes me feel better. I went to my first support group meeting last night and it was very informational. I got to ask good questions to my doctor who was there and to some people who had gastric bypass. Most of the people there were lap band patients but their experience was good to hear too. I met a wonderful lady from here there and we talked for a while and I hope to stay in touch with her. She should have her surgery about the same time I will and it will be exciting to have someone I can complain too and who knows how I feel. lol Anyway that's all I have to update on right now. I am going to be in Ohio/west Virginia area for a little over a week starting Wednesday of next week. I am excited about it but dreading the drive. No one there knows I am wanting to have surgery except my aunt. Its funny to think the next time I see them I will look so different and will be healthier. I am excited because I only have 2 more appointments for my supervised diet. Well I will update after I get back from my trip.

This has been a horrible month for me. A lot of financial things happened this month so we dont have a lot of money to spend. actually very little so my food choices have been awful. Not all month though, mainly the last 2 weeks. I have had to get boxed meals to make which are loaded with fat and salt. I am still only drinking water and trying to stay away from as much sugar as i can. I dont think I have lost anything. actually I lost at the begining of the month but I think I have gained it all back now. I am hoping I can get everything back to normal and go shopping for my foods again. I hate not eating right. I am also going to start the gym next month. I already joined so I am going to start going next week. I go to Ohio on the 21st of july and I know I wont be losing much while I am there bcause there are things I wont eat ever again after my surgery and i want to eat them one last time. i will promise though to eat a very little amount of them so it wont be too bad. For the most part I think I will go with my sister in law as a guest to her gym while I am there and eat pretty healthy other than the few places I have on my list. Well I will update after my doctors appt. on the 8th.

I am about half way done with my 6 month supervised diet and I have already seen Dr. Friedman for my initial visit. I love him he is very nice and easy to understand. When I say that I mean he makes things that are complicated easy to understand. I dont havemy phsych, nut, or dietician appointment till aug but they are all in one appoinment so I dont have to come back. I have to go get blood work and a xray done before then. By the time I get all of that done I will be ready to submitt for approval to my insurance company. I figure I will be ready for surrgey around the end of sept. or begining of oct. I am doing good on the 6 month diet. In the last month I have lost 6 pounds and that way more than I ever thought I would lose but I am doing some things that are a big change. I have taken sugar out of my diet almost completely and I am only driking water on top of watching my calories and fat intake. I didnt see hardly anything the first month but this month I am glad to finally see some weight come off. Right now I am trying to get the house cleaned up and put back together from moving stuff around. We are taking vacation to ohio at the end of july and I want this house together by then. Now I found out my in-laws are comming to visit right before we leave so now we have to have really clean and earlier than anticipated. Busy Busy Busy. I am glad because when your busy time goes by faster and I wont even have time to think about the weight loss stuff. Well I will write later

After going to Dr. Lord's siminar I liked him and decided to go to him but as you seen things didnt work out because he requires all the money due at the time of surgery which for me is 10 thousand dollars. I was talking to another person who had surgery with Dr. Friedman but the Aertna website didnt show Baptist hospital as covered for surgery. It did show Dr. Friedman at sacred heart and covered so I called and found out that he was with baptist and both are covered. I would stil have to pay for half of my surgery but Baptist said I could make payments and then I could try and bill share of cost and see if they will pay for the rest. If not I would just continue to make payments on it. So I went to Dr. Friedman's simnar and I LOVED him. He just felt like the right doctor for me. He was easy to talk to and very down to earth. I felt safe with him and I trust him. I told him about what happened to me and he said that he use to be at sacred heart and decided to leave and go to baptist and there were a lot of patients leaving dr lords office due to the staff. They had problems that were similar to mine. Its noot that I didnt like Dr. Lord its just his staff. I like Dr. Friedmans staff and he is pretty paticular about his staff and how they treat you. I would recommend hime to anyone and everyone even if something happens and I dont get to have surgery. I hope I do get tohave it but I am still a ways away from that point.

I was told in the begining that I would be responsible for 10 thousand dollars of my surgery because aetna only covered 50 percent. I was then approved for share of cost and dr lords office said they accept it and that I would only be responsible for 1139 which is my share of cost amount. I have had this appointment with them for over a month now and I showed up yesterday for the appointment and they only had me down for aetna so I mentioned my share of cost and she called patsy. Patsy said she would talk to me at the end of the appointment so they wanted me to go ahead and pay the 525 fee and my copay. I handed her my card and then patsy came up and said that share of cost was no longer accepted through them. We have been emailing back and forth and she knew that I cant do any of it if they didnt accept the share of cost. Instead of letting me know they 1 let me drive all the way across town, my husband had to take off work, and let me show up at the appointment, and 2 they almost had me pay the 525 plus co pay which is non refundable. So aggravated, but I called baptist hospital today and dr friedmans office said they will work something out. At the time I am suppose to pay that they will let me make payments to them, and then that will give me time to send it to my share of cost to get it covered. I would just have to make a payment of some sort. They also do not require the 250 (which is much lower than dr lords) up front at the first appointment. They said they want me to meet him and make sure it is really something I am interested in first. They were so nice. I liked dr lord and sacred heart but they just wouldnt work with me. Dr. firedmans office couldnt believe they wouldnt work with me because I have insurance that is paying most of it. I am going to go to the siminar and meet Dr. friedman there and then I have an appointment with him on june 10th. We will see how that goes.
