Day #4 of pouch test

Jun 25, 2009

This really isn't too hard. Today I had talapia for dinner.  I did notice that my hunger is increased.  The first couple days I was fine but I've noticed today that I wanted to eat pretty much every 2 hours. Not sure if it's because I was bored or really hungry (that's why I got fat in the first place!)
I made sure to drag my butt to the gym this evening for some cardio. But I didn't weigh myself today. It's so easy to get scale obsessed...then disappointment always results.  I meet with my personal trainer tomorrow morning. I'll get on the scale Saturday morning to see how much I've lost on this 5 day diet.

Day #3 of 5 day pouch test

Jun 24, 2009

Things are going pretty good still.  Tonight was the first night I really felt hungry- but I have been working out really hard every day.  I found a yummy tuna salad ready made in cups at Meijer today. Low carb  80 calories 18 g of protien and .5 g of fat.  Tomorrow I move on to ground meat.
The personal trainer thing is still going well.  I met with her yesterday and I'll work out again with her again Friday morning.  I'm doing pretty good on my own as well.  I make sure to get to the gym and do my cardio daily along with some other strength training excercises.  I'm working on getting into a cute dress by Aug 1st...I am determined!   If I do, I'll be sure to post the picture.
By the way, the scale said 159.2 today- down .2 from yesterday LOL  I need to stay away from that scale, it messes with my head!

Day #2 pouch test

Jun 23, 2009

I cannot believe it...FINALLY 159.4!! I was ecstatic!  It's taken me SO long to get past 160 (my fault of course)
The test is going OK so far.  Seeing the scale move it definitely giving me motivation to keep going on this diet.  I'm starving right now so I'm going to go warm up some soup.  But tomorrow I can have canned fish, so that's exciting LOL

Day #1 of 5 day pouch test

Jun 22, 2009

Has anyone else tried this, and what was your take on it?  I started out at 160.0 this morning (it's taking me forever to break into the 150's!!)  I hope this gets the scale moving!

Day 2 with personal trainer

Jun 18, 2009

OK, I'm getting really frustrated. I love my friends and their successes...but I'm starting to feel "what about me?!"   The personal trainer isn't cheap but I'm going to see her 2 x's a week. I'm going to give it a good honest try for the first month. I really hope to see results. I've been stuck at this weight forever and I really feel like I'm making the effort- the scale just doesn't want to go anywhere!!!  I will keep you posted on my progress

Time to update

May 15, 2009

It's been way too long since I've caught up on my OH page.  To be truthful, I fell off the wagon for a bit   That's a horrible feeling.  It's easy to start avoiding things when you feel like crap.  But I always promised myself that I'd reach out for help if I felt myself slipping.  So I have been and for the past few weeks I've been doing great!  I'm ready to get the scale moving in the right direction again!!!

Size 11 Jeans :)

Feb 21, 2009

So I brought a size 11 & a size 13 into the fitting room.  Just before I tried on the 11's, I made a deal with God: I said, "if you make these 11 fit, even just barely, I promise I'll wake up tomorrow and work harder at losing weight." And they did!  I'm the proud new owner of a size 11 pair of jeans!
I have to add this...as I'm checking out I say to the lady, "I hate to buy them because they're pricey and not on sale, but I had to because the smaller size actually fit me!"  And she says, "Well, this brand does run rather generous."  Whatever!  LOL

Liking the girl in the mirror again

Jan 13, 2009

So, I've been doing pretty good with my workouts-    I typically do 20 intense minutes on the Stairmaster or elyptical followed by some light toning & sit-ups.  However, I've been doing this since October so I decided to go back to my aerobics class to change it up.
The last time I was there I weighed about 220 lbs.  I couldn't do everything full out because my stomach felt like it was going to detach from all the jumping!   Anyway, I was excited to go back and see how different it felt now that I'm a little lighter.
As most of you know, Fitness USA has mirrors all around, which force you to see yourself at your sweaty worst.  But this time I wasn't disgusted!  I actually kept surprising myself with my reflection. I know that might sound egotistical- but what I mean is, my face looked so much slimmer that I barely recognized myself.  I loved it!  And my stomach/chest have decreased a lot so I wasn't knocking myself out the whole time.  I was able to do everything full out, therefore, getting a great workout.
Just wanted to share my mini-success

Gave my vacuum a haircut

Dec 13, 2008

Seriously!  I flipped over my vacuum to routinely clean the brush rollers and it looked like a wig was attached!  This hair loss stuff really sucks.  I've heard that it can last anywhere from 3 months to a year...here's hoping for only 3 months!
