Hello every one, today marks my 1st week after surgery. I am getting better as the days goes by, last night was my first night sleeping all night with out getting up in the middle of the night , I was able to sleep on my side wish it was great because of my scoliosis sleeping on my back its really painful.  The counts are in after I weight in this morning I have to say that I'm really happy with the results I have lost a total of 14 lbs in one week yes you heard right 14 I'm so happy , so with that said my 2 weeks preop i had lost 10 lbs and this 14lbs means that in 3 weeks i have lost a total of 24lbs. I am really happy that this is my 1st week after surgery because tomorrow my clear liquid diet is done well not all the way done but I can now add some cream and milk products low fat of course and of course cottage cheese yummy.  I don't get hungry at all I have to make my self eat and my body now tells me when I really need to eat cause I start to get drowzy , my wounds are healing great no problems there thanks God, and well I think I have said everything from this week and I guess I'm done , will write again soon

Hello every one I'm back. its been 5 days since my surgery and I'm felling better as the days go by. I want to tell you all of my experience at Star Medica Hospital. I want to start by saying that I'm really happy with the service I received there and the staff( nurses) were excellent , they are the most caring , professional, polite, and always walk in to the room with a smile on there face and it is sad to say that the caring and professionalism does not exist here were in Florida as far as I know in the hospitals here, well any how I was very impress with the hospital and the security in it, my room was real clean and nice, the view I had from my room was great I had the mountains of Juarez , watching the sun set was a beautiful thing to see. Dr Rodriguez was real nice even though I really only saw and meat him for maybe 5 minutes before the surgery. How ever I did meet and got a great impression from one of his colleagues Dr Elmo Arambulo he was great explained everything to me and did all the test that followed after the surgery . I am also  thanksful for meeting a great women that had surgery the same day I did and a nice friendship was born (I Love you Dana) we even came up with a one year anniversary get together  , and I hope it does happened.  Well I'm done here for now will write more at the time goes by, oh and by the way in 4 days i lost 7 lbs o its a total of 17lbs including the preop diet woohoo here we go down...

Good day all!
Today was my last day at work there are aprox 34 hour till I live to the air port , my nerves are getting worst now , but I will find a way of controlling them.  Today at the end of my working day every single one of my friends/coworkers came and hugged me and wished me good luck , yes i have to admit that I got teary eyes when i walked out of the clinic i work at, and that was the minuted my nerves got worst. I cant begin to explained how I feel right at this moment, there are all kids of feeling going through my mind. But I will say that I am ready for this, just  to know that my high blood pressure, diabetes, and my back pain will go away after i loose the weight , is enough to explain how ready I am, but I am not going to lye that to also know that I can wear cloth that I have never dreamed of and to know that every one will look at me for me and not cause I am a big women, makes me feel good, oh and the most important reason , To be able to be a mom that has been my dream since I got married and due to my obesity I have not been able to be a mother. Well with all this said I hope everyone wish me good luck on my surgery and I hope to write ounces again real soon...

Good day all.
Today its my 2 weeks mark before surgery , i started  preop diet on monday and so far so good not that bad its only bad at night because i have to drink milk like baby in order to fall asleep. I know everything is worth it. Yes i am still scared to go all the way over there and I have dream with the hospital more than 2 times already , I know i have to keep a positive mind but today I am going to some problems with my better half. He is a great man but sometimes he speaks with out thinking and hurts my feeling , I know it will all be fine but as far as I'm here typing might as well vent.  So with that said  again 2 weeks left and counting I got my flight tickets today and it made it even more real that I will begging a new life  in less then 15 days. I will hope to write next week to let you all know what  is going on with me ...Love Indy

Hello every one Indy here again and counting the weeks now only 3 more weeks to go until the big day .  I started my preop diet today and it has been a little hard but I have to do it.  I'm getting everything ready for the trip and making sure all my ducks are in a  row. As far as how i feel , well exited and some what scared too , I have dream that I was there already and it was not a nice dream , but I guess dreams are dreams...

Hello  bloggers today I got a kind of wacky news. I received a call from my surgery coordinator telling me that my surgery was going to be canceled due to that the surgeon I chose was not able to book up that week with patients and that they were not going to do any surgery that week,(imagine how i felt) I'm a superstitious person and all the bad thoughts went through my mind, she assured me that everything will be fine and that they could book me for a week early with a different surgeon Dr. Jose Rodriguez , she informs me that he is great and that he is the head of the surgeons .  So here I go again only 4 weeks till surgery and now I'm researching on the surgeon . wish me good luck you all...

Hello everyone , well today will be my 6 weeks mark prior to my surgery, I'm still scared of my trip and the out come of the surgery, I have such a good faith in God that everything will be fine. I will be starting my pre op diet on Nov 1,2010 I know I will do it and be ready for the day...

Today is sep 28,2010 it is 3:44 pm , hello my name is Indy I'm 29 years old and I'm having surgery this year in exactly 7 weeks.  As far as how I feel well like every one else that is getting surgery super nervous and exited at the same time , all I could think of is that and what it will be of me after I'm done and how i will fell and look after my one year mark.  I have been a big girl all my life and its on my family too, my father , grandmother, aunt, cousins, well everyone on my dads side of the family are over weight. I have research for this kind of surgery for the past 3 years (yea I know its been a long time but like most people I work and the financial status are not doing that well( oh and to make matters worst my ins will not cover this even if I need it to save my life) this is exactly what they told my HR manager. Lucky for me I have a great Brother that will help me with the financial part of the surgery. But any how like the title says THE JOURNEY BEGINS. I will be posting to my blog every now and then to keep up on updates of what I'm feeling and what is going through my mind...love Indy
