Diagnosed with breast cancer.

Mar 13, 2012

Post Date: 2/12/12 7:32 pm
have been diagnosed with ER+/PR+ and HER2 positive breast cancer.  I have completed my harsh chemo (taxol & Carbo). Now I need herceptin for a week for the next 8 - 12 months.  I am really nervous that I am going to gain weight taking the herceptin.
Anybody ever have any weight gain or weight loss  with this herceptin?

I have done some more research....Right now its all about being healthy, if the weight losss comes it comes if not I gott do the best I can, pay attention to the carbs, and increase the protein, even thou, me and meat are not the best of friends, So I need to increase my protein shakes, start walking the best I can.

Let the truth be told.

Jun 19, 2010

I have turned into what you call a GRAZER.  Last month  I snacked all day, fritos, tortilla chips dumb stupid stuff.  This month I have been trying to concentrate on the fruits, I have been able to eat cherries & strawberries.  Oranges & grapefruit is a no,no. However I can drink orange juice with my protein powder. Tast really good like a dreamcicle.

It has been really hard meantally that is.  I got rid of all the snacks in the house.  I am breaking the bad habit I have picked up.  Good bye grazing,.  I gotta get back to the basics, and will kick up the exercise, walking on my lunch and breaks and in the morning on the weekends.

Anyway just wanted to update gotta track my prgress.  I  can nt tell a lie, I have been at a plateau for over 2 months.  This is not good.  A change is coming.

2010 UPDATE

Mar 15, 2010

Just doing a check in.  Just want to start by saying that 2009 and the beginning of 2010 were pretty ROUGH.  The rough patch is over and survived.  The gynecologist did me real wrong.  I am now all fixed up over a year later.  However my weight has fluctuated from 156lbs - 166lbs, I figured probally from the 5 surgeries I had to fix me and the not being able to workout.

My goal starting in April 2010 I plan to workout 2x per week.  I plan to get an additional 20lbs gone forever.  I really would like to be 140lbs.

This again has been the best decision I have ever made.  It has been a rollercoaster ride but it has been well worth it.  If you are on the fence if should or should not.  Just do it.

It has been more mental than anything.  Dont eat anything u are not suppose to eat and all is well.

One Year!!!!!

Oct 20, 2009

Yes, It's one year.  I really don't know where to start.  I will agree it's been a roller coaster ride.  I have enjoyed the wight loss, I never regreted for one second about having the surgery.  I truly feel like a DIVA.

There is so much more to say but not enough hours.  I am going to post some updated pictures. I am down to 159lbs, My goal weight is 156 so go back and forth from 157 -160lbs.  I hope that is water weight. hahahah.

Some people think I am to small some think I am just right.  The only left to do now is to tone up the skin. I plan on hitting the gym hard and steady.
