Almost 2 weeks out

Nov 26, 2010

Two weeks has almost gone by and so far I'm doing really well.  I got a little ahead of myself and tried some mushed up fish and some humus - (Two different meals) well these really did not agree with me.  I'm going to be sticking to fluids for a little while longer and also try less dense pured food.

Weight wise  - I have lost another few pounds.  I saw my family Dr. this past Monday and I asked her what my weight was the last time I saw her - and since March - I have lost over 40lbs (Most since pre-op diet) But still - go me!

My recover has gone remarkably well - I've been out shopping with my husband almost every day and have put a major dent in my Christmas shopping.  My husband goes back to work next Wed, so I'm hoping to finish the shopping with him so that I can do the wrapping while I'm off on my own.  This second week has been really nice - it's bee a long time since I have had this much time alone with my husband since before my son (who's now 8) was born.  We've been happily married for just over 14 years.  He married me when I was thin, has stuck with me with the weight gain and is excited to see me thin again.

We're going to put the Christmas tree up this weekend - I love this time of year.  I love decorating I've already been re-organizing things to make more room.  Having this much done this far ahead of time will give me a chance to enjoy the season- I love seeing family and friends - I have three nephews that celebrate birthdays in December so there is always a celebration.  Just like most families, we don't live far - but not close enough that we can see eachother regularly - usually just for the major holidays.

I've also been doing tons of knitting.  I'm making little dish clothes for my staff team ( I need ot make about 45 so that each person can get three)  I've also bought these really nice smelling soaps from body shop to add to the gift.

I'm also reading a great book - the Friday night knitting club - it was a get well soon gift from the people at work (that along with a care package  that included magazines, slippers, yarn and a little bell to ring to call my husband - just for the record I never used the bell!)   Yesterday I received a really nice flower basket from the people at work.  I love my job and the people I work with are really great too.

I've also been cooking more.  the other day I made a chick pea curry - which was amazing - my family loved it.  I made orange and carrot soup and pea soup ( the pea soup did not turn out so well).  But it has been fun using the kitchen - I often joke that I have not cleaned my oven since I moved in 4 years ago - it's still clean  because I don't use it.  This will change - I just can't justify the expense of eating out.

Cheers!
