 Ok, So this all started in March when I went to a hospital seminar. I had been thinking about this for several years but between lack of cash and some mis-info, I didn't think it was possible. Then my health became frustrating and I decided to do what I needed to do and figure it out.
June/July: I expl to the billing girl that I didn't think insurance would cover it but she wanted to check anyway. So she called and no go, sent her a copy of my booklet and she said maybe, let her work on it. Didn't hear back from her for a while, was waiting to hear from the evaluation center and everything while getting assessed for another issue I had. 

August: Had the eval and was anxious for next step so called the billing girl I had been in talks with numerous times only to be told that she had left the office less than a week ago and it was unexpected so things were a mess.  Oh great, I expl that she had been checking my insurance for me. This office manager (who was dealing with mess) said that it looked good, she checked further and no go. Ok, I expected that.

Now lets get this scheduled... She expl it was pay up front for self pay and I said I knew that and that I was going to get a 30% discount for paying in full up front, she said that is not a policy of theirs and where did I hear that. Of course the girl who quit/fired was the one. So she said that she would check on it and ended up offering 10%...disappointment.

They called back, surgeon is going to look over my papers and we will schedule in a couple of days. Called the hospital and wanted to check on the price again, I already have the loan. I was told 20% self pay discount in July when I called. Talked to the finance lady, they no longer offer that.... are you kidding me... She is going to check to see and let me know.

I am frustrated with all this mess. I feel things are disorganized and I really felt I should have seen the surgeon by now. I asked about pre-op diet and she said no, just a 24 hour liquid fast or something

I really am feeling frustrated and wondering if I should go somewhere else, but I really hate to do all this again. I think I will call the other hospital tomorrow and ask about transferring the info.
