Kaiser Permanente Richmond Medical Center

"Kaiser Richmond has a small med-surg unit (30 beds or so), but from the time I went into pre-op and left from med-surg they were all great. I can't tell you how friendly the nursing staff was, because they have left me speechless. There was not a single insensitive nurse during my stay. I was incredibly well taken care of, they let my wife stay the night and she helped me so much. I hit my call light once because my IV went dry and the nurse was in there in less than 2 minutes. I just can't say enough great things and I would strongly, strongly enourage anyone in Northern Cal Kaiser to request Kaiser Richmond. Dr. Fisher, my surgeon, was top notch and has the best bedside manner of any surgeon I've met and better than most other internists I've interacted with. Great, great experience and I'll be sending the nursing staff a thank-you card because they were that great!!"

David Fisher

"After being denied 3 times by my HMO and yelling loud enough, I had a consult with Dr. Fisher. He was very, very supportive and made a great impression on me and my wife. I tend to like physicians that are blunt, upfront and honest. He was all three. He was very professional and kind. He answered my questions, drew pictures in response to my questions and offered me an opportunity to lose weight without surgery as a last ditch effort. He has reservations about younger patients due to post-op compliancy, but he never made me feel like my decision was wrong, but he strongly encouraged me to try one last time to lose weight with his support and guidance. He strongly encouraged aftercare, addressed the surgical risks and was one of the nicest surgeons I've dealt with (I've worked with many surgeons who are less than friendly and eager to cut). I look forward to my continued care with Dr. Fisher. I recommend him highly!"
