I started this journey at 42 years old, after every diet plan worked, then failed. I am no different then most of you. I can lose weight but it comes back with more. My husband said, "You need professional help." Well I did that and LA weight loss. After I blew my $900 to lose 25 pounds and turn myself into a diabetic from all the carbs I was consuming, I decided I needed to look into something else.
After months of thinking and talking to people I know about WLS I decided to go and talk to my PCP. That was in February 2006. He talked to me about my options, we looked over what I have done in the past and he thought the next logical move was to explore WLS I was at 344 pounds. He reffered me to Dr Garber and I saw him in April, then to the weight loss clinic for the 6 month supervised diet with Dr. Muzzio. Since then I have seen every department in the hospital. I have been cleared for surgery, approved by my insurance, and I have my surgery date of November 20th. YEAH! my weight now is 318.
I am an avid reader of OH PA member board and the November Board. I think everyone on here is wonderful, at least so far.
Today is Oct 30th, I picked up my pre-op supplies tonight from the drug store. The Dr. has me on a liquid diet the day before surgery. I have to take Caltrate Magneisia and then I have 2 different antibiotics to take that day. So it's all here in the house. Only thing left to do is get pre-op blood work which I plan on doing on November 10th. I am off of work that day and we be able to go fasting not to late in the day. I am suffering from a terrible sinus infection, I am on my second antibiotic, Levaquin 750 mg., I need to get better I only have 3 weeks to go.
