I am not understanding the band much...

If people have to have all this discipline and self control what is the band for? If you have to go to weight watchers anyway, how does the band help? Is the band not for people that are emotional eaters? I mean come on now, if people had discipline in the first place they wouldn't be overweight!
I am learning so much here.
