Hi,
My name is Grace. I go to school for Psychology and I also work full time as an in-home health care provider. I love my job, and I love my life.
I have been overweight practically my entire life. I was "normal" sized until I was three, and between the ages of three and four I gained 50 pounds. My parents never fed me any more than a normal person, never went out for fast food, and didn't keep things around the house for my brother (who is a bean pole) and I to snack on. When I was about 10 I was diagnosed with insulin resistance. I have been struggling with my weight ever since I was young and have been dieting on and off for most of my life. I lose about 30 pounds and then just come to a screeching halt.
I am not having this surgery because I am unhappy with how I look, I believe I am a beautiful person on both the inside and the outside. But when I came to the realization that it is almost impossible for me to lose over 200 pounds on my own, I decided I needed to look into the surgery for my health, not for aesthetic purposes.
