Hi there. My name is Jackie from Washington. I had a gastric sleeve (aka sleeve gastrectomy) on October 8, 2007 performed by Jeff Landers at Puget Sound Surgical Center in Edmonds, WA. I went to a seminar because my weight was beginning to go up and up again. I had co-morbidities that included type 2 diabetes and GERD. Dr. Landers was willing to spend the time needed for me to truly understand the surgery and its consequences. I am now 43 lbs lighter and it has been one month since my surgery. I have more energy and desire to eat more nutritious food...woo hoo. I am already off of my diabetes med's. This new type of surgery has truly been a God send to me!!!
