Hi again everyone! I just talked to Ellen about 20 minutes ago and she sounded wonderful! You would've never known that she just had major surgery! She said that she has been walking as much as possible and drinking carnation instant breakfast every 15 minutes (even though she says that she doesn't really want it...she's just following directions)! She also told me that they were letting her come home tonight at 6:00 p.m. and that she's really excited about it! I am so very proud of her guys! She's not in a lot of pain and just doing wonderfully! Thanks for all the prayers and support!

Hi everyone! This is Ellen's Angel, Kristen with an update! We got to the hospital Tuesday morning around 7:30 expecting her surgery to be within the next hour or so, but she didn't actually go into surgery until around 10:40! It lasted about 2 hours and 15 minutes or so and she was in recovery for a little over an hour! I was in the hallway walking around when I saw the nurses her wheeling her down the hallway so I made my way back to the room in a hurry to tell everyone (her mother, sister, and husband) that she was on her way to the room! We all waited in anticipation to see her! She got to the room and you could tell that she was feeling yucky, but she was able to flash us a quick smile before she entered the room! She was complaining of some discomfort, which the nurses explained to us was just the gas pain from surgery! Soon after getting her vitals, the nurse came back to the room with some Demoral to ease her pain and make her sleep some! She hadn't sleep in two days so the rest was much needed! Ellen has one of the most wonderful, cheerful personalities and although she was still out of it, she still kept us laughing with her input to some of the things we were talking about! Although I have to say that lots of it didn't make sense! I can't wait to tell her all the things she said! She'll get a kick out of it! Her husband and I left around 4:45 to make it back to Birmingham before all the traffic started and because we wanted her to get some rest! I remember how hard it was to sleep with everyone talking around me and being such a big talker, I wanted to participate just like Ellen wanted! Anyway, I called her last night when I got back to B'ham and she was sounding much better and said she was in and out of sleep and just feeling a lot better! Then this morning I talked to her and she said she was having a little stomach pain, but it was more like stomach cramps and not so bad, which is what I told her to expect! She said she had been up walking around some and drinking juice every hour to take her medicines! She seemed still really tired, but definitely feeling a lot better! She also had her leak test and everything showed up fine...no leak! That's all I know for now! I'll get back to y'all as soon as I hear anything else! Just keep praying for her for a speedy recovery! Thanks guys!

Ellen, I'm thinking about you and hoping that your surgery went as well as mine. I had my surgery one week ago today at Brookwood and I'm feeling great...even beginning to branch out and try some new foods. Let me know if I can do anything to help you in your journey!

In all things Remember, that the one above loves you, that He holds us all in his loving arms,He knows each of us by name.He said anything you ask for in "my name" will be given to you.So in His name I pray for you, that you be given strength, endurance, love, peace and most of all long life.In Jesus' name. When you wake up and see the faces of your loved ones in the recovery room, know that you have made it.Thank Him,Know that you have been blessed to see and to live out the rest of your days with the ones you love and the ones who love you.....Knowing that He loves you too. Happy soon to be ReBirthday.
