I havent been doing such a great job at keeping up with this blog! Ugh! And I wanted to chronicle all this stuff!!ANYWAY....................................!!!
I had my surgery on 08/30/2010. I am about 3 1/2 weeks post op now, and everything is going great! As of now.. I am down 30lbs and 18 inches.. which is awesome. But I have to admit... I have been on a stand still with the weight loss for almost 2 weeks now. Ever since I stopped being on liquid diet.. I havent lost anymore weight... but I have lost inches.. so I guess that counts, right!
I had my first visit with my PCP today. I am OFFICIALLY off all of my pre-op medications. My blood pressure was at 128/82 today.. and I havent had meds for that in 3 weeks.
Lets see.... food wise... I am technically just supposed to be started soft foods next week, but honestly I weaned into them a little sooner. I just could not deal with the taste or texture of purees. I havent had any problems.. and I am very carful with what I eat. I chew...chew....chew.... and chew some more!
Protein/Vitamins/Liquids - I think I am doing okay with that. I am faithful with my vitamins & calcium. I take in a good bit of protein. It may not be exactly whats required... but I get a good bit. Liquids are getting easier. At first is was really hard... but its getting better.
Exercise - well.... lets just say this surgery did not take away my LAZINESS! I do have more energy.. but still no real motivation to get out and go walk. Plus its been toooo darn hot! HOWEVER... I do have a plan. Starting next week, some co-workers & I are going to walk during lunch, and 3 days a week after work. I am thinking that will help because I will have someone telling me.... LETS GO!
Welp... thats about all I can think of right now.. brings us up to date somewhat... and I promise... I am going to make an effort to update here more often.
Also.. I have decided to have photos taken each month on the 30th to mark progress... so just a few more days til I do that!
