This is just a few words of encouragement for Jan. Hang in there and don't back out this time. I went through the pre-op stuff back in 2003 and backed out before finishing. Then my health went downhill in a hurry, much related to the excess weight. I re-started the "procedure" of getting ready in March, 2008 and finally had my surgery in Dec., 2008 in Tampa, FL. I am not sure where your town is located in AL (even though I grew up in AL), not sure if you are near a bigger city. Anyway, do everything possible to connect with a support group. Not only do you learn from others, but you can be a blessing to someone else who is struggling. It is a critical part of the program. I noticed that your BMI was not very high. Mine started at 58.1........ Since Sept., 2008, I have lost a total of 112 pounds. It slowed down significantly about four months ago because of other health problems. I am back on track and losing at a rate of about 5 pounds per month. Wishing you a smooth surgery, quick recovery and a wonderful life in a new body. It's truly a journey. Marty
