Ready for plastics

Feb 26, 2012

Wow,  I had the RNY surgery almost three years ago! I feel like it was just a year ago. MY tool has been so wonderful to work with. I have definitely been blessed to have been able to do the surgery. I have so much more that I can do.
Now I am ready to take off a few more pounds with plastic surgery.
My stomach , breast , mons , and leg area have all had an adjustment period. The stretched skin for being overweight and the pregnancies have left me "hanging".

I know that I want that loose skin to go away, my bod to be back where I Don't have to tuck in my tummy skin for jeans, or look for an extra padded bra to hold up my empty breast area.

I went to my plastic surgeon consults. I was most embarrassing undressing in front of someone even if though it was suppose to be an objective look at what needed to be done.
Taking before pictures was also embarrassing, especially since I wasn't able to see them at the time.

After my first consults I went home and thought of so many more things I wanted done than what I had asked for.
I can see where plastics could become addicting with the promise to "correct" and put things back into place.

While for the moment I am focusing on my breast, tummy and mons area. I really want all of my thighs, and gobbler on my neck to be lifted. Wouldn't mind having a few facial peels either.

I see this as another journey that I am starting with myself. I need to answer some questions to myself  what good will this accomplish for me and others that I am around, what quality will it add to my life, what will I have to maintain to keep up with what I am going to do to myself, can I do this?

I started a pre op photo album, very graphic, just so I can remind myself what I need to be concentrating on when I am thinking about my actual body as a thing and how it is functioning. Hopefully this can help me stay focused on what I can do with exercise and not caught up in being perfect with wanting to much from plastics.

ATKINS Revolution Rolls- AKA: Rev. Rolls~~Miricle Buns~~bread

Oct 04, 2008

I loved my Low Carb Friends board and just wanted to add my favorite recipe from there. I think it will work just fine with this diet. I will try it soon!

If You Want A Sandwich and Can't Have Bread-Look
Here is something which makes really good sandwiches. I found the recipe here somewhere, but I can't find it anymore to give credit where credit it due. Hope they don't mind my posting it.
It can be eaten during induction because there is no flour in it.
There is only 1 carb per slice if it makes 12 "slices".

Basic Recipe:

6 egg whites
1/4 tsp cream of tartar
4 egg yolks
3 ounces softened cream cheese
pinch of salt
Beat egg whites & cream of tartar until VERY stiff. Turn bowl upside down & if the whites don't slide, they are stiff enough.

In a small bowl mix together the other ingredients. Gently fold the yolk into the whites using a spatula.

Generously spray a couple of cookie sheets with pam.

Spoon out mixture into piles on cookie sheets. I spread the mixture out to about the size of a slice of bread. Don't get it too thin or it will be too crisp. I usually get 10-12 "slices" depending on the size of the eggs.
Bake at 300 degrees about 35 minutes. They will be lightly browned.
Using a spatula, remove them to a wire rack to cool. When cool, put them in a ziplock bag and store in refrigerator. Make some holes in the bag so they won't get soggy.
We eat them with hamburgers instead of buns. They are GREAT!

Ok,
I never realy thought about this but I know that they happen.
Kidney stones

Taking in extra calcium---
this lady had an experience that was horrible.
She learned that drinking lemon water, lemonade, will help the calcium not to form stones.

Understanding how your body survives...

Aug 16, 2008

I stayed up late and fell asleep with the Science  channell again the other night.

I thought I would write this little tid bit down, since they summed it up so well int the show last night....I woke up and this great little show was on telling about the different stages of starvation.
I will have to search the TV guide for the  program.. Iwant to find all the info again.

Ok this is what happens...

First stage....you havent eaten enough in the past 24 hours. Your brain is signaled to send a chemical that effects your nerves...It make you want to "hunt for food".

Ok, so you didnt find any food.
Well your brain then turns the body into super conservation mode.
It shuts down all the non essential elements that make you super awsome. You go into sleep mode.

Ok so you still didnt find any food with your primal senses just turned on.
Your body signals to eat some of what it has on hand.
Thats YOU!!   You really need some protein because essential cells need to reproduce and are dying....so it goes in for YOUR muscles.
Thats OK...you have enough meat to last you for a little while.
You cant go below 50% though....after the 50% is gone....well your number is just up, and   The whole system dies.

ONe good point the show did make was that Ocassionly reduction in calories does slow dow the cell process...and that causes them to continue the process over a longer period of time....which means you actually Last longer.
You stay young longer!!

So my goal in the rny is to last LONGER!!!
Well my point with this is to remember AFTER the RNY to get enough to eat!!!!!!!!!!!
I dont want to start to go into the second mode.
If I hit the second mode then something is wrong...In my Opinoin.
PROTIEN PROTIEN PROTIEN!!!! VIT ViT VIT.
WAter...water water.  LIttle bit of carbs!

OK...we got our dates...and I am nesting??? LOL

Aug 16, 2008

I swear I am having all the fears and anxieties I had when I was pregnant!!
I remember when I was pregnant and waiting for the babies to arrive. Right before they were to come into this world I started cleaning like crazy , noticing everything in the house that wasnt right and I fixed it.
Made sure everything was perfect for the time.
Thinking of things that I never ever would have thought of on a normal daily basis.

Well I am in that mode again.
I am guessing Im responding to something that is going to be a life changing event.  Even maybe a life and death situation. Praying that all will go well with the RNY's.

I have felt this before. And now having looked back on having my children, all the pain and prep was worth it. I would never ever exchange them for anything in the imagination. Yes, sometimes we struggle  but the problems get worked out...and we move on and enjoy eachother even better!

I am hoping that will be the case with this surgery.
I will look back at this post and remember!
:)
