Light at the end of my tunnel...

Feb 01, 2010

I have finally lost the required weight set by my surgeon and am now # 13 on the waiting list. I spoke with the surgery scheduler who shared that I will be having mine in April. She will not set the date until the end of February. I have completed my EKG and had my chest xray. So now I wait...   Well actually I am trying to get down another 10 pounds, so I will be lighter for the surgery. I have been really hungry lately. I don't know if it is the weather or my need to self sabatoge, but I have to keep it together.

My Journey...

Aug 09, 2009

I have been fighting fat from about the time I was in 2nd grade, when my dad died. I used food to self sooth, as well as a form of enjoyment. I've been on every diet known to man/women. I've lost and gained hundreds of pounds. I decided a few years ago to get the bypass surgery. I was in the program, lost my required 10% and was waiting on a surgery date, when my mom got sick and died. I quit taking care of myself and gained my weight back. At that time I was just not in the right frame of mind to work on it. I was kicked out of the program. About six months ago I decided I was ready again and restarted the program. I have completed all of the required appointments and steps required. I just need to lose 8 more pounds to schedule my surgery date and 5 more pounds to have the surgery (for a total of 13lbs). I used to say I was trying with not much success. Now I say I am doing!
