Step 2 of 500 (or however many there may be)

Hi

So every journey starts with a step or two I guess, and I'm just getting my footing...

My name is Robyn, I'm almost 36 (in August) and I'm hoping to restart my life soon with VSG.

I've been thinking about weight loss surgery for a long time and to me I always felt it was an easy way out.  NOT FOR ANYONE ELSE, but for me.  I've known several people who have had WLS and do great and I'm always happy for them but some reason I could never talk myself into it even though I knew it would help me.  I don't know why I feel that for me its was wrong, but I did.

Last month I had a day where I just had it.  I'm tired of not being able to move, or to do anything and I've got to change my ways or pretty soon there won't be any more was to worry about changing.

On May 15th I attended a group session about WLS at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park, MN and I was impressed with the staff.  They made me feel comfortable.  At the end of the meeting they handed out paperwork, I came home and filled it out and got my medical records together and on 07/01/10 I sent it in the mail.  I have no idea how long its going to take but its on its way.

If the Good Lord sees too it I hope to have this done by the end of the year.  My insurance is almost going to cover me 100% and that will be SWEET if I could swing it.  So I'm praying hard and crossing whatever I can still get to cross!

I'm not really sure where this road is going to take me, and I'm pretty sure there are going to be some things I don't want to run into along the way, but I'm excited and scared all at the same time.

Well, that's about it for now.  I don't have any news because I'm just taking those baby steps, but you walk before you crawl...or is that the other way around!  LOL
