It's been a LONG time.....

Aug 20, 2009

Wow!  It's been almost a year since I have logged onto this site or posted to my blog.

I continue to have success with my band, it is more of a maintenance tool at this point than a active weightloss tool.  I am -90 lbs from my starting weight and I feel great.  There is nothing that I can't do physically- I started to see a personal trainer in January and that helped me tremendously.  I worked with her for 3 months and have a very good program for free weights that I do on my own now.  I can do this workout even when I travel- although some of the hotels I stay in do not have good gyms which makes working out a challenge.  I just do the best I can with what I have to work with.

I have decided to get a tummy tuck, and lipo of my outter thighs.  I have "knobs" on my upper-outter thigh that JUST will NOT go away.  When I consulted with the surgeon he told me that they wouldn't go away ever no matter how much weight I loose or exercise because it's my genetic make-up.  Oh well, genetic make up meet modern day medicine.  :)  My surgery is scheduled for Oct 9th and I will be home the same day.  I am a bit scared to do the surgery because I don't want to be in pain...but I can't stand the look of my stomach with all of it's stretch marks from having children.

I have been really lucky through my weightloss journey- I do not have sagging skin and the Dr is not going to have to tighten my muscles- he said that because my muscles are tight I didn't need the muscles cut- thank God!  I should have a quicker recovery time because he is not cutting muscle.  I am going to take before and after photos and maybe even post some to my profile-- I have been very lax lately with even downloading photos from my camera to the computer.  There is just too much going on right now in our lives.

Next post should be about the surgery and my results.... stay tuned.
