Okay here goes with my profile. My name is Deanne I will be 34 shortly the 14th of Aug to be exact. I have been married to Joe for almost 9 years and we have 2 wonderful boys Brennan is 5 and Joshua is 4. Brennan will be starting Kindergarten on the 21st. I started my WLS journey when a friend of mine said she was going to try the lap-band. I checked out both procedures and found no one offered the lap-band around here. There are so many things out there that is negative about the long term effects of the lap-band and you would eventually have to have the RYN. I looked into a doctor in Ames I did not feel very comfortable with him and there staff was not willing to help me get anywhere. That is when I checking into the Mercy Capital. I went to the informational lecture, I felt this was the spot for me. I filed out my paperwork and within 2 days Diane from there was calling to set up a phone interview with Susan. Then from there she set up the class where I met Janine. After that class was the diet and nutrition class. So now it leads me up to this week. I met with Dr Cahalan on Tues Aug 1st and felt very comfortable with him and he explained everything. Tonight I have my sleep study...please pray I have no sleep apnea. Next Wed the 9th of Aug I have my pshyc evaluation. From there Melaine just has to wait for all of the recommendations to come back in so we can send it into the insurance company. I have been working hard on the diet part of it as I want to make the best of this journey. I started out at 265 lbs. :o( Not really happy about that. I do have a lot going on personally with family issues so I think stress is not helping with the weight loss. I have made a vow that I will lose 10 lbs before this surgery if I have to eat nothing 2 weeks prior to this surgery. I will post how the sleep study goes on Monday the 7th.
