"The seminar was very very informative. All the risks and benefits of each surgery were addressed and we were even shown a video of each surgery. I originally wanted the lap band but after the seminar my mind was set on RNY. I was nervous when I went to meet Dr. Roberts for the first time. As soon as he came in, I knew that I had nothing to worry about. He is so friendly and kind. He answered all my questions and didn't rush through my appointment. The office staff at Crosby is so friendly and helpful. They handled all my paperwork and set up all my appointments for me. I was always kept informed of everything and everything was well put together and I didn't feel like I was kept in the dark about anything. While I was in the hospital after my surgery, everyone was so kind and caring. I felt like everyone truly cared for my well being. I had a few issues during my stay in the hospital, one in particular related to my co-morbidity and Dr. Roberts colleague, Dr. Lemieur came and saw me and talked to me about it and had one of their physicians come and talk to me for over an hour about it to maybe see about a better way to handle it. She really helped and I was amazed at how much everyone was looking out for my well being. The followup care so far has been great! I have had a 1 week, 1 month, and 3 month followup so far. My 6 month is in a week and there will be a nine month and a year followup as well. I would rate Dr. Roberts overall a 10! He performed my surgery well, has a great bedside manner as well as the other surgeons. Everyone at Crosby is so great. I had some minor complications for a few weeks after surgery and Dr. Roberts and his staff made me feel at ease and helped me through it. The only one thing I had an issue with and it wasn't even really the staff was that I had some real bad abdominal pains late at night not too long after my surgery and I called the hospital to ask what I should do about it. I was not aware that if you don't tell the first person that you come into contact with on the phone at the hospital and tell them that you had RNY, they patch you through to a call center. If I had told them this up front, I would have been patched through to someone at the hospital. I had no idea that I was talking to someone in another state, so when I showed up in the ER after spending an hour on the phone with someone about what to do, they had no idea that I had even called so I had to explain myself all over again. That aside, when I was in the ER, they treated me so well and the whole phone fiasco was no big deal. I give Cuyuna Regional Medical Center and their staff a huge thumbs up!"
