hi I'm Ariel Martin i am 17 years old i had the lap band surgery on September 26Th of 2008! I'm 17 now and my life has been hard Ive had people tell me that i am cheating and i could do it by myself and i didn't need to go have the lap band done..well their wrong and if any of you are reading this and your still on the line about having this surgery let me tell you this it was the best thing i could of ever done for myself...I'm not Gina lie its hard you see all those people who can eat and eat and eat and not gain a pound and you can eat something so little and gain 5 pounds....that's how my twin sister is. it was hard to sit there and watch her eat that way and nothing happen to her. so one day my cousin mentioned she wanted to have the lap band surgery done and were about the same size in weight not in height i am 5'11" and shes maybe 5 foot even but we went down to Juarez,Mexico and had the surgery done. i nearly backed out i cried when they did they did the x-rays. so my problem was i had never had any kinda surgery before and i am terrified of needles. but i didn't back out i had it done and i came home and i have been living the life i wanted not the one the fat me was living. i couldn't run when i was big i had trouble breathing i had all sorts of problems but now that i had the surgery i can run i can breath just fine and i can be who i really and truly am. I weighed 235 when i went and had the surgerey i wore a size 22 pants and an XL shirt... now its been 7 1/2 months and i am at 196 and i wear a size 16 pants and a large almost medium shirt and i can fit into a size 14 dress. like i said before it was and always will be the greatest decision i ever made!
