Hi!
I'm 38 and love my BorderCollie, my apple snail, swimming, making necklaces and bracelets, and stamp collecting. I've also found that I like walking - much to my surprise. I live in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
I began this WLS 'journey' near the end of February 2012, when I saw Dr. Stephen Glazer. In tjme I saw a social woker, psychologist, nutritionist, nurse practitioner, and attended the introductory and nutritional seminars. I saw Dr. Aarts, but I ended up with a cancelation and my surgery is scheduled for March 11th with Dr. Jamie Cyriac.
At my highest, I weighed 315lbs, and currently weigh just under 289lbs. I start my Optifast Februrary 18th. Things are beginning to seem very real, my original surgery date was May 15th, and the Optifast begining in 9 days.
I have bad sleep apnea, a rapid pulse, and an often sore right knee, but other than that am healthy. I have been trying to walk as much as I can. I've worked up to 35-37 minutes/day. Sometimes I have to walk only 30 minutes because of my knee. It's so frustrating to want to exercise and find my knee hurts a lot. But, I'm counting my blessings since the pain is not awful, and I don't have more weight-associated problems.
