I'm hot just not as hot as I used to be:)
May 10, 2009
I had one of those Aha! moments a few weeks ago. I don't get as hot anymore. What I mean, is that I used to overheat all the time. I would wear short-sleeves in the winter, my face was always flushed and anytime the temperature was above 70 degrees, I was uncomfortable. It hit me a few weekends ago when I decided to go hiking in 90 degree weather. I would NEVER have done that a year ago. I am loving this change.I recently hit the six month post-surgery mark. I have lost 79 lbs. since surgery and 106 lbs. since I began the journey. I can't even begin to list the ways that my life has changed. This is the best decision I have ever made. I look forward to each day. Exercise is actually something that I enjoy doing now--crazy, I know:)
There are two side effects of this surgery that I could do without: hair loss and flabby skin. To combat the hair loss, I am taking mega-doses of Biotin and using special (and pricey) hair products. The hair is still falling out. For the flabby skin...I work out 4-5 times a week. I have been taking a Pilates class. In the next month or two, I am going to join a gym and try to take some classes for toning. Any other thoughts or suggestions?
Congrats to all my fellow six-monthers! We did it!!!
