Daniel Cardwell

"I have nothing but great things to say about Dr. Cardwell and his staff. I am still in the early phase and have not had the surgery yet. I was given an appointment very shortly after the lap band seminar. His staff is very pleasant and accomodating. When I call with questions, they either answer them at that time or call me back before the end of the day. He is very straight forward and no-nonsense. I like that about him. I don't have to guess what he is thinking or where he is coming from. Some may not like that approach, but I find it refreshing. He was very informative about the procedure and what I should expect. He also outlined what must happen before the surgery so that I am ready. I will be having my second consult with him at the end of October, then if all is in line, we will set a surgery date for somewhere around Thanksgiving. Regarding the question which is better bedside manner or surgical competence? I will take a jerk who has awesome surgical skills over Mr. Nice Guy who might cause me loads of problems any day of the week. As a nurse, I have learned over the years that a poor bedside manner could be that they are thinking of the 100's of patients they have and the dozens in the hospital that they are there to see. It isn't personal, not really. Surgical competency is most important. I look forward to my new relationship with Dr. Cardwell and his staff."
