Feb 2010

Feb 16, 2010

I am doing well. Life is crazy and complicated. I have had no problems with my health, and I feel good in general. I am able to eat pretty normal. I have problems with breads and sometimes meats. I never know when something is going to come back up, and that still happens from time to time.
I have had my wii fit for over as year now and I love to work out on it. My daily goal is 10,000 steps. I love doing step areobics. Tomorrow I am going to check out a local gym. It is nothing extensive, but has weights and bikes, and tredmills....so that would be awesome. I need to be going out and doing more. I would still like to loose about 40 pounds and get toned a little more.
The only thing I wish I would have been able to know more about prior to surgery is about the skin....My arms and legs bother me so much. I have been on Prozac for the last six months for depression. This is not the body I wanted. I have lost weight, but I now feel disfigured. When I am fully clothed I am okay, but naked is a different story. At this point I cannot afford anymore surgeries. I have a list though of what I would like to have done.
I am just having a hard time right now, and I need to get some support. This is not easy for me.
Well I am off for now...I don't want to stay away for long. I need to be here...

March 2009

Mar 21, 2009

Wow it has already been a year sine my life-changing surgery! I am so happy. I have been doing a lot of reflecting in the past couple of weeks, of where my life has changed. I think it is because I have a BIG surgery coming up, and am getting a little nervous. Anyway, April 2nd is the big day. I will be at The Toledo Hospital no later than 6 am to get checked in. Which means I will be up early, That will probably be okay, because I doubt I will get much sleep.
They will be doing the anchor tummy tuck. This is not what I wanted, because I will have both a vertical incision and horizontal incision. But the Dr. said this will give me the best result. So I will have that done, and the drains, which there will be three of I will have for two weeks. I am dreading that part the most. But I will get over it, I am sure.
Lately, I have been trying to get my house in order, so if I have to have others get something for me, they will be able to find it. LOL. Mainly my kids rooms look like they exploded. :) My children will be going to my parents for the week, which will help me a lot. I also got a recliner today, since I am sure that will help my recovery.
I have so many great people in my life there to support me. My boyfriend will be going with me. My friends Linda and Gwen will be there after surgery, my parents will be there and my kids will have to check in on me, and I have a lot of girlfriends who will be stopping to see me, and keeping me in their prayers.
I was thinking once all this kin is gone how much easier getting dressed will be, I will not have to put my skin into my pants anymore...lol. I am going to be taking some before and after pics so that you all can see the progress once the surgery take place. Blessings to everyone!!

I am manly focused on loosing anything else I csn loose. I have been at the gym every day and walking 3 miles, weight training and swimming. I will keep updated... Hugs

January 2009! Things Will Align In 2009!

Jan 28, 2009

I am sure many of you are as busy as I am. However, I need to keep checking in here as well. I have had so many changes going on, and all I can say is God is Good. I am so involved with my church, and with a women's group that I am working with. We are working on establishing a women's shelter, for women and children who are in domestic violence situations. I am praying that things continue to come together as easily as they have been.
I am also branching out and beginning a Mary Kay business. I love make-up and so I think that this is something I can be successful at. I am also pretty business minded. That always is helpful when you are trying to run a business.
One tip I have for you is making a list everyday of 6 things you want to accomplish. Sometimes when we write things down it is easier for them to come to pass, than when we just have those things in our minds. I am a pretty goal oriented person to begin with, and this helps me even more.
I have a plastic surgery appointment coming up. One on Feb 2 at the Cleveland Clinic and one on Feb 10th at Toledo University. So that is pretty exciting.
I am in physical therapy at least 3 days a week. It sometimes really hurts. I have such bad back pain at times though, I know I need it.
But life is good! I am a better person. I love me!! I love my life and I want to make a difference in the lives of others.
It is just an exciting time for me right now. I know that many people are depressed because of the economy, but life is what you make it. I know life is too short to sit around and be depressed and allow worry to steal your joy...so I keep pressing ahead, and I believe that the best is yet to come.
Hugs~

Where Have I been?

Jan 14, 2009

Well I am back in Ohio. I attend college full time in Angola. I will graduate in May! I am finishing up some other things I needed to take care of. My kids keep me busy. I am working on a domestc violence shelter. I write grants for several people....so lots of stuff. Physically I am feeling good.  I met with my Dr yesterday and I need to eat more and get more calories and protein in. I am steady at 162...and I am ok here. I am going to the YMCA, and walking. I am also on the wii several days a week. I love step arobics. I am in a size 12 and XL shirts. I know I would be smaller if all this extra skin wasn't here. Life is good. I will be heading back to Cleveland in Feb. for my year check up. I just hope the snow is gone by then. It is amazing what can happen in a year. I can't wait to see what 2009 brings!

August

Aug 18, 2008

It seems that I can only get logged in here once a month. It is just nuts. I need to put this on my planner so I know I will dedicate some time to it. Really things are going crazy around here. I just got moved here and now we are moving again. Same city and area, just new house. My fiance's sister and her husband are our landlords and since she fired my finance since he caught he abusing animals...things have been in an uproar! So the stress of moving is nuts! My kids also started school here and they like it alright. I start college tomorrow. I am nervous and excited all at the same time. At least I have one less worry...fitting into the seats! I remember at the community college I attended they had high school desks and there was hardly any room! Well now I could fit and have room...so it is all good.
I am maintaining my weight right now at 180. Which is so awesome. I am working out and walking A LOT! I need to up my fluid intake. My diet is not what is should be. My protein needs to be higher. I do drink a lot of milk to try and get it in. I cannot eat a lot of meats. But I feel great and healthy.
That is my update for now. I wish you all well.

Heading Into July

Jun 30, 2008

Well it has been a while since I have updated. I have been so busy, and before that I always seemed to be in the hospital. My children and I got moved to Illinois, and I really love it here. I need to find a new doctor soon. I have made friends with a lady here who had surgery, and she goes to St. Louis to support meetings. She invited me to go along sometime. I would like that a lot I think. I am still loosing weight. I have noticed a lot of inches, I need to do an update. I am weighing in at 192. Which is pretty good from 345 in February. My children and I may be joining karate soon. My son has been in for four years, but I am considering joining as well.
I love life. I love being smaller than I have been in a long time. I still have a hard time finding clothes that fit me....but oh well I will deal with it.
I will update some more soon.

What Happened to April.........

May 06, 2008

Ok so it has been one rough ride. First my hospital/surgery experience and then MRSA. Then I have had my stomach dialated twice after numerous ER visits. I was severly dehydrated, and when I ended back in the hospital this last week they said I was gray in color. It was bad, I was facing a feeding tube. But I think I am out of the woods now. I finally feel better. I get so frustrated when I think about all that I have been through.
But I can eat. I can eat real food now. I have been eating a lot of jerky to get my protein in. I have a hard time with the shakes, so I dont usually do them. Today I had about half of a baked potato.
I know you are not suppose to have soda, but I have. I am just like, who cares. I have lost 136 pounds in two months. It is crazy, so I am not worried about "blowing" my stomach up. Actually in my case the opening is still small. So it may help. I just tthink it is funny how every single dr is different in what they say you can and cannot do. I am just listening to my body.
I was never a binge eater. My metabolism was just so screwed up from all the meds I have been on through the years.
Ok gotta run for now. I am moving to Illinois at the end of the month.
Hugs

Good Friday

Mar 21, 2008

Well the good news is...the pain is gone. My incision is healing right along. It doesn't look bad, and I can get up and move without pain. Granted, it is not comfortable just yet...but I am progressing everyday.
I have been eating puree's this week. I started with some zolfran..which is a medicine that keeps food down. It is a blessing to me. So, I try and do yogurt twice a day, like when I take my antibiotic. I have also had some broccoli and cheese soup, that felt good on my belly. I have had some cottage cheese, and corn beef hash. The hash is high in protein, and I ate 1/2 c. I was full. The most important thing is that I am getting some protein in.
I went to WalMart yesterday and was so exhausted by the time that we left. I came home and took a 3 hour nap. That is my main complaint...that I am so tired after doing nothing.
I am a bit bored, because I haven't been able to be me. But the good news is that on Tuesday night my friend is taking me out to a concert. That will be so nice...to feel like me again.
That is all for now..nap time...again...lol
