I was a normal weight in high school, however still struggled. My senior year I had went from 135 to 152 and then just continued on a downward spiral. I went up to 185 the summer after I graduated due to living on my own and not eating right (plus undiagnosed thyroid issue). After that it was a steady incline until I reached my highest weight of 287 several years ago. The lowest I was in the past 12 years was 235 in 2005. Going to Overeaters Anonymous has helped tremendously, and along with seeing a counselor who specializes in food addiction issues, have been the 2 biggest things to make me realize i cannot do this on my own. The last straw for me was not being able to get pregnant. After a year of fertility treatments, I went for a second opinion and she said that unless I lose weight, it will be unlikely for me to get pregnant. I've decided to get the sleeve because I didn't want the malabsorption of the bypass and the upkeep of the band.
