I went for my preadmission testing today.  They did some more blood work and an EKG.  Also went ahead and did my admission assessment and I met with a CRNA.  I then went over to the conference room and had the preop class.  Followed then by the class with a dietitician.  Then we went back up to Dr. Bilton's office and had an appointment with him.  All went well and everything is still on for Wednesday.  I have to be at the hospital at 7:15 am (wow that is early when your also factoring in an hour long drive) and the surgery is scheduled for 9:15.   I'm very nervous.  So ready for it just to be over with already.  The only thing that bothered me today is that I felt like they were really pressuring people to choose gastric bypass over the band.  They said it wasn't too late to change our minds.  Also said that people usuallly lose more weight faster with the bypass and also that they tend not to regain as much with bypass.  That is scarey to me but makes me also question their motivation.  Just wonder if they get more money when people choose the bypass over the band.  Anyway, there were about 15 in my class, 4 were doing bypass and the rest were bands.  I'm the first one to have surgery this month.  I'm excited and still scared.  Can't wait to be on the other side.
