Aug 17, 2007

I was again admited to the hospital on Aug 5th after going to the emergancy room for pain, nausea & vomiting I stayed there till the 8th I was still under the weather when they relesed me but I am doing ok now. Other than that minor setback I have lost more weight & am doing good.

Had a little set back

Jun 06, 2007

I have been having pain & a hard time keeping things down for a while & after a trip to the er on sat & a follow up with the dr on mon which led to being addmited to the hospital till today I belive I can start getting back on track I was told I had whats called a stricture & they had to put an endoscope with balloon down my thoat down to where the stricture is & open it up. So they did the procedure yesterday & gave me iv fluids because I was dehidrating. so we'll see if that helps. but otherwise I am doing ok & I hope everyone else is doing well to.

2 & a half wks Post op

May 18, 2007

Hello Everyone, Just wanted to touch base. I am now 2 & a half wks out of surgery. I am losing weight quicker than I expected to which I am totaly elated over. I am now down to 184, Yipee. The recovery is a little tougher than I expected though. I get sharp stabing pain in my cheast when ever I eat or drink my water, (I constainly feel thursty )& my stomach still is quiet painful & although my nurse said this is all normal I still find it difficult to deal with. I have also been suffering from nausea & loose bowels. I was just wondering if anyone else went through or is experiancing the same things? How long will this last & are there  ways do help the way I feel? I have been following what my nurse tells me but I still feel icky. I hope this feeling will ease up soon. Also my hubby said sit ups & stomach crunches will help prevent the loose skin issue. Has anyone heard of this? Does it work & how long after surgery do I have to wait till I can start with those type of exercise? Thank's & talk to you all soon. Jen

Thanks for the response

I just wanted to thank everyone that answered my question & let everyone know I did talk to my nurse practitioner & she said the pain I was feeling was normal. So thank you all for your respondes & concern. I am still hurting & my nurse said I will be for a while. I am also very tired all the time & get worn out easily but I assume that is normal with the surgery as well. Well talk to you all soon. Jen

Apr 14, 2007

I was called by my surgon's office the other day. They had all my pre-op appts scheduled & I had to laugh I never expected there to be so many. I have my lab work & pre-op physical on the 17th, & get this on the 18th  I have an appt at 9:45 am at the hospital business office to complete my paper work for the insurance company, an appt at 10:15 with my nurse practitionar, an appt at 11:15 to meet with my surgeon & appt at 12:55 to meet with the anesthesiologist. I also have an appt on the 23rd for the lifestyle change seminar. I start my liquid protien shake & salad diet on the 17th. Woo-Hoo here we go we're on the roll now. The closer it gets to my surgery the more excited I get so I'm glad they keep you busy with all these appts other wise I would be crawling up the wall with anticipation like a kid waiting for his parents to let them open there present on christmas morning. I can't wait to begin to my new life.
