My name is John. I am 25 years old and live in NY. I have been overweight for much of my life and had LAP RNY on December 7th at NYU.
I had compications and a leak which occured 6 days later and had to go back in the hospital and have another surgery to repair the leak. I was in the hospital for about 4 weeks total. It was a VERY VERY difficult experience that I pray I never have to go through again.
I am now about 4 months post op and am feeling alot better although I am having problems with my iron levels. I am down 100 pounds and am feeling good about myself.
Even though I went through hell I would now say that I do believe that the surgery was worth it, however there is a price to pay for this happiness. Its hard because a full meal cannot be eaten and it takes a very long time to "feel" human again.
