Just came back from a 2 mile walk. Before I left I had called the surgeons office to see if they had any cancellations for endoscopy to call me I could do it.  She informed me that the Surgery Scheduler cancelled me that they had told me to see if my primary care could get the endoscopy done sooner. I no way said,"CANCEL ME"  I said if I cant get the surgery done by a certain time that I might as well cancel since it wont be until next year"  UGGGGHHHH. I find it very difficult to understand, only because I have worked in Orthopaedics and now at The Surgery Center as a surgery scheduler for a long time. You read all the time of issues with authorizations being delayed by the insurance carrier and here I sit on disabilty for my shoulder and stressed not knowing if its going to happen or not happen.  I saw the nutrionist today, her name was Kim at Summit.  I found out I can count my water in my protein shake as water towards my daily intake so have been way over drinking.  Basically it was alot of stuff I already knew, and the foods that you are suppossed to stay away from alot of them I have to anyways. So, here I sit all sweaty for my wonderful walk and my husband is going to move my treadmill or get an extension cord so I dont have to leave the house. I like to walk outside but I can do without the whistling. There must be alot of guys out there that likes bigger girls. Anyways.... will write when I have more to say about the office. I am almost betting that this is not going to happen like I want it.  Sad to say I like to think positive but their actions are showing me that they really dont care about my time frame.

Had my surgery consult on Monday, July 12, 2010 with Teresa Kim, MD in Oakland,  I am on my 4th day of the preop diet and doing great with it.  I have a protein shake in the morning and lunch and  a healthy dinner of lean meat and veggies.  I had my psych eval today by Elizabeth Nickens in Hayward and passed of course cause "I am very aware the plan and surgery and have done non-stop research like everyone else"  I love the YOUTUBE before and after videos.  So, my plan is to have the Gastric Bypass and hoping to do this while I am off work for my shoulder surgery. I am 2 1/2 weeks out from shoulder surgery.  I weighed in at Dr. Kim's office at 273 which was 7lbs less then when I had my shoulder surgery.  I hope to get surgery within 3 weeks, if not then i will have to wait until next summer.

My Nutritionalist Eval is for this next Tuesday.  Still doing well on the preop diet, although I did snack on about 10 cashews today.  I see my Orthopaedic Surgeon tomorrow for my shoulder so I am really hoping that he does not say,"Go Back to Work " so soon.  I want to give it until August 6th and if I have not had surgery then so be it. It will not happen this year.  I got a new protein powder the vanilla from Body Fortress that I am going to try tomorrow with frozen berries.  I found it on sale at Grocery Outlet for 14 dollars. Hope it is good!  I am going to Nevada to visit my dad and hope I can stay within my 800 calorie preop diet. I will do my best. I did not get on the scale today as I was finding I hadnt lost any weight in the last day or two so will see how it goes.  You know I am thinking, "How the heck am I supossed to lose 15 lbs within the time I am asking her to do surgery. Well, at least I am following through and getting all the testing done, taking my vitamins and embracing the change.

Been back on the preop diet since beginning of January, went to my one meeting I needed to attend with postop people and just got word that my GI endoscopy on 2/2/11.  They will not schedule my surgery until after the results are back from that. Work first told me  I could not take time off in March or May. Made no sense because the  people that are off at that time are Nurses, my backup scheduler is here , she has no time off requested.   Well, I am set in my mind for April 2011, after all I dont want to have to do all those consults again.  The struggle between myself and the scheduler remains, I hope she never finds herself in my shoes.  My journey continues......
