9/28/02 The first thing I would like to say, is THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR PRAYERS. I will continue to pray for all of you. I am very fortunate to have a wonderful support group. 12 days post op. Last Monday was my one week check up. I lost 20 pounds the first week. I must say that was the hardest 20 pounds I've ever lost. However, I don't expect to gain them back like I always have. In fact, I've lost a total of 28 pounds. Surgery went well, even though I had a central line and a cath. That was two things I was fearing the most. Looking back I don't have a clue why. Neither one was terrible. The hospital stay flew by. My husband stayed all night the first night and the next day. My daughter stayed the nect two nights, which was a life saver. I made it through the liquid stage and now am on the soft food stage. I never thought blended food would taste so good. I have one more week then I can start trying out my new stomach. I am so lucky, not one time have I thrown up or had any pain of being to full. I stop eating immediatly when I get the first feeling of being full. I try to get out at least once a day. I love my house, but the walls start closing in. I've noticed when I get up early and walk, I feel so much better, more energy. I don't return to work for another two weeks and then it will be part-tine for two weeks. I just wish I could do more around the house. My husband says, I made this life changing decisiona and just need to give it time and complete the process the correct way, taking it easy. I really enjoy this site, I spend at least a couple of hours a day and now that I am feeling this good, I'm sure it will be more.
