2 YEARS POST SLEEVE!!

May 13, 2013

Hello folks, I am now 2 yrs out from being sleeved by Dr. Ryan Heider on May 12, 2011. What a great change it has been and I still get to eat everything I love and still hold a great weight. I was in the 36BMI range and still holding at 165 lbs. I did bottom out at 159 but here at this weight for a year or so. I have no regrets and never have thrown up or regretted making the change. After I was sleeved 6 people I know went to Dr Heider to be sleeved as well.. They're all doing great. If you bare thinking of moving forward and your doctors give's you the green light, go for it. I was a self pay and this is the best investment you can make in yourself! Plus you gain some of the money back with all the food you save... :)

Best of luck in your journey!

Well time has flown since the VSG. all has gone very well and I am down about 60lbs. Almost at goal of 170lbs. I have never thrown up once, although come close a few times. I can eat most anything including sweets without issue. Just small amounts. I slowly enjoy a soda occasionally but small sips. Everyone needs some Ginger ale once in a while.

I still drink protein and but Muscle Milk (banana creme) or Protein Plus. Both are good.

Although I still have a little belly left I still feel fat. Not sure why as a lost a lot of belly already. Everything has thinned out. Just me I guess. I am happy with the results and want to keep losing. I must say I am much less embarrassed when taking my shirt off at the pool.

If you're thinking of the VSG, it is a great option.

A month Pre Op

Apr 03, 2011

Well, I start my liquid diet in  4 weeks and I am already not looking forward to it. 4 weeks (2 b4 2 after) with no food is going to be stressful. I have read dozens and dozens of blogs, stories and emails and majority rules. This will work. I will admit, I am enjoying food and volume to the fullest now. Probably shouldn't but I will never eat like this ever again. I did it wrong for the last 25yrs and if I don't get it right soon I won't see the next 25yrs.

Being a self pay I felt going with someone who can offer surgery insurance (Bliscare) was helpful for me to make the decision and pull the trigger. I just don't want to be "that patient" and lose everything if there is a complication.

New me coming soon...
