Hi Julia, Jusy read your profile. Congratulations on your success so far and keep up the good work! I wanted to tell you that I have a 14 year old son who reacted a bit like your daughter. He said "Mom, if you die, I'll kill you." When he realized what he said he was like, "did you hear what I just said" We laughed because if I die he won't be able to kill me. He also said "that's all you ever talk about." So I stoppped telling him so much about it. I had to give him an update this week because my surgeon cancelled my appointment (haven't even seen him yet). They won't have appointments til January. I am trying to not be disppointed, but I wonder. . . He joking said the if you die I'll kill thing and we laughed. He seemed a lot less worried about it now. Maybe he's done a little research on his own about it. Kids worry about us parents and that is a good thing. You are doing wonderfully and it sounds like your family is great. Best of luck to you. ~*~(From my heart to yours)I SAID A PRAYER FOR YOU TODAY~*~ I said a prayer for you today And know God must have heard- I felt the answer in my heart Although He spoke no word I didn't ask for wealth or fame, I knew you wouldn't mind, I asked Him to send treasures Of a far more lasting kind, I asked that He'd be near you At the start of each new day, To grant you health and blessings And friends to share your way. I asked for happiness for you In all things great and small, But it was for His loving care I prayed the most of all.(unknown author)~*~Hugs~*~

Julia, After getting an email from you I read your profile...awesome, I am so happy for you and glad things are going well. If you ever want to share or check in with someone, feel free. I hate to tell you this but eventually the pink cloud will fade and there will be regular life ..you know stresses and feelings that used to send us to food? So, when and if that occurs, remember that there are a whole lot of us here for you. Lana Danaher

Julia, So glad to hear that surgery went well. I must agree with you...getting all the stuff down is the hardest. I dropped by to see you after the support group on sat....they said they had no one listed by your name. I tried anyway. The first month is the hardest......I am will soon be three months....and doing well. Keep sipping....and walking as much as you can. It helped me to get some v-8 juice. The sweet...milky....was all i could take after a week. Ask Brenda....but she said I could have some cream soups after just a few days...that helped to....just drink it very slow. Take care Karen

Congratulations on your surgery! The next year is going to be the most amazing of your life. I just want to let you know that here in the beginning is the toughest part. You will feel better than normal soon! These first few weeks and the surgery will only be a memory and you will be on to your new life. I am 13 months post op and I have lost nearly 130 pounds. I went from a size 24 to a 4 in a little over 6 months. Miracles do and will happen for you. I have tried to keep a profile that can be used as a resource. That answers all of the questions that I had when I was in your shoes. And links to various places to do more of your own research. If you have any questions or just need someone to talk to that understands please feel free to email me.
