Oh my..it's been almost 2 years!

WOW...I can't believe that over a year and a half has gone by since I wrote here. SO much has happend during this time. I am not sure if I even belong on this website anymore. Back in January of '08 when I decided to do it on my own, I have. I am not yet where I want to be, but I am alot further then I was. Back when I began looking into surgery I was 262.6 pounds. As of today I am 208.6 and still losing. I am very proud to say that I am only 63.6 pounds away from my first goal of 145, and 73.6 pounds away from my DREAM goal of 135. I no longer qualify for Surgery without co-morbitities. That makes me very happy and very glad that I didn't make the decision for getting surgery. It has be a longer road then if I would have decided on surgery, but hey...its a marathon, not a sprint right?
I have done many different weight loss programs since making the decision, as of today I am on Atkins and have been on it for 2 months. I love it! I find it very easy to stick to, and I feel real good. I will post more pics when I get home to my computer (I'm at work right now). I think I look good, hee hee hee.
Also, I have been doing weekly vlogs on youtube for over a year and a half. The address is:
I am also apart of a colab channel called "WeightLossLosers" where we all give advice/opinions on different subjects each week (I'm Friday)
A long time...

Wow, it's been a long time since I posted. Ok, well here is where I am at. I havn't really been doing the Alli, don't think they worked too well for me, I purposely ate over the fat grams to see what would happen, and nothing. I think the 7 pounds I lost on it was more becuase I was watching what I was eating. So, as of January 5th, I re-entered the Weight Watchers arena. I am so motivated this time. Last time I lost weight was with them, I lost 40 pounds, and I am as motivated now as I was then, so I am giving myself one year. I have become full time at my work, so that means that I can get their insurance. However, I have decided that I am not going to enroll now (I have medical, and am going to stick with that for now) I am going to wait, and do everything I can for 1 year, and which time I will reexamine what I need to do. I would really like to loose weight on my own. I am starting on my 3rd week on weight watchers and am down 4.8 pounds. Just need to keep focused,, I CAN DO IT!!!
Should I take another route?

Hi all, It has been a while since I posted anything, I got real discouraged with the denial letter, and my doctor dosn't seem to be doing anything to help. I call at least once a week to see what I have to do to get this going. Does anyone know how to write a good opposition to denial letter? Well, I really got off focus after I got my hopes up for surgery, so I started eating like there was no tomorrow and gained 10 pounds! so now my BMI is probably up from 43.4... but on Monday I made a decision to loose weight and if I get approved for surgery, that is just a plus... I am back counting points (Weight Watchers) and I bought ALLI, which I am supposed to start on Monday. I have heard many good things about this pill. It is approved by the FDA, and it doesn't work on your brain (like all of the other "diet" pills.) It is supposed to block 25% of my fat intake, along with a reduced calorie diet, and excersise) I pray It helps. Also, the good part is is that (simmilar to surgery) if you eat too much fat (15grams or more per meal) you will have oily gas, and diarreah... I know that is not a real "good" part, but it helps you to remember you DON"T want high fat foods, enough for me to stay away! Well, I will post more on my progress as it happens.... Thank you all!!!
My Test Results came IN!!!
Sep 05, 2007
Hi all, my blood test results came in today from my doctor. My bloodwork is good. No high colestoral (sp?) nothing wrong with my thyroid, doctor says all looks good, so he is going to send in the request for authorization to my health plan. I have my fingers crossed that all will go good...cross them with me .... well, one step down...who knows how many left! I just hope and pray that everything goes smoothly so that I may begin my new healthier life... by the way... I gained 1 1/2 pounts since last week at the doctors...!!! WOW...Thank you for all those encouraging words...I can't wait to be on the other side!

Doing the "research" thing
Aug 16, 2007
Well, I have been thinking about the surgery option for a little while now. Just talked to someone that had gastric bypass about a year ago, and she looks AWSOME!!! She was talking to me about how she is happy with the decision she made, and the different options that I have. She also directed me to this web site (Thank You Connie!) I see already how informitive this is. I already got contacted by some surgons, One was in Mexico...(I don't know about going out of the country..too many stories!) But anyways, for my story...
