10 months now

Aug 12, 2008

As of 8/11/08, I am 10 months post surgery and down 93 pounds. My average monthly weight loss has slowed way down, but I am not really worried about that.

I have to admit, I have been eating more carbs and I am sure that is the reason for the slowed loss.

We are going on vacation in a couple of weeks, and when we get back, I think I will do the liquid diet for a couple of days again and see if I can kick start myself again. Or, maybe I will just kick myself! :)

Over 80#s now

May 20, 2008

I am not going to bore you with a lot of details except for one! I have lost 83#s in 7 1/2 months!  I am able to move easier, sit in booths, step between people without knocking them down! Yeah, I feel good!

Still going and going and going....

It's sort of like the Energizer bunny....the weight keeps going and going and going. :-)

At my last post, I had lost 65#s and was big time stalled.  Since then I have lost 6 more pounds and am at 71#s now. Yahoo! This is really exciting.

My biggest problem right now is finding clothes. I used to know exactly what size to buy without trying them on at the store. Now I don't know. They are either too big or too small (just a little snug) when I get home. If they are too big, I take them back, if they are too small, I just keep them, because one day I will get in them. It will be pretty soon probably.

My weight loss has slowed down, but that's ok, because my body needs to catch up with itself. My hubby looks at me every few days and says "you are getting skinnier." That's nice to hear.

I'm stalled!

Feb 12, 2008

I have finally hit a wall I mean stall! I have been here for about a week now. I am not worried about it....YET! Everyone stalls now and then, so it's ok. I will let you know when I come out of it.

Meanwhile, I have posted 4 month pics in my monthly pics album here. Check it out.

I told ya I'd do that!

Feb 03, 2008

I said earlier in the week, that by the end of the week, I would have my BMI in the 30s! Well, I did that. It's 39.5!!!!! I am 11.1 points down from where I started. And 64.6 pounds lost! YAY!

One more point!

By the end of this week, I will have dropped my BMI from 50.6 into the 30s. CHECK THAT OUT! This photo was taken on my 3 month surgery anniversary.I feel a lot healthier already. I am 62#s down and moving easier, walking further and standing longer. My BMI was in the SUPER OBESE category when I started this endeavor. At 50.6, I was a walking time bomb for heart attacks and strokes. Now, at 40.0 I am still considered Obese, but after 10.6 points down, I am a much healthier person. Normal is somewhere around 23. I hope I can get there or close to it.

I am scheduled!

I will definitely have the Vertical Sleeve done. I am really excited about it. My surgery is scheduled for October 11, 2007 at 11:00 am.  Need prayers and hints for prep before surgery.

Thanks

Finally taking the steps

Aug 23, 2007

Well, I have finally made the decision and now I am taking the steps to have the surgery done. I am not sure which one I will be having yet. Cost wise, I am leaning toward the Vertical Gastrectomy, but may end up with RNY instead. Just not sure what my surgeon will think is best for me. If you have had any experience with VG, please let me know how you did and if you had any problems. I am going for it folks!
