Steven Wiener

"Dr. Wiener was a very nice and possitive doctor. I doubted that I could get approval from my insurance company until I met with Dr. Wiener. He said he could get me approved. I left feeling very good. I also explained that I would be losing my insurance coverage in 4 months and needed to speed things up. He promised that the request would be sent the beginning of the next week. Then 5 weeks went by and nothing was sent in. I finally was able to get his insurance gal on the phone. She said it had gone out the day before. But, she also said she could promise me that I would NOT be approved. 2 more weeks went by and the request had still not been submitted. After several calls, I was finally able to get the insurance gal. She has who ever answers the phone ask who it is and then decides if she wants to talk to them. If not, then you are sent to her answering machine where she promises to call you back. But, at least in my case, she doesn't. Anyway, she said she would fax the request over that day. A week later, TriWest received the fax. They requested more information including photos to be mailed to them. I found this out on a Thur. I called the doctor's office and was told the insurance gal was off until the following Monday. I called back on Monday. The insurance gal told me she sent it out on Friday. Hum, the day that she supposedly was off? TriWest waited for the information for 2 weeks. They told me that the doctor's office never contacted them or sent anything in. I called the insurance gal back, but was sent to her phone machine. A week later TriWest denied me since the Dr. Wiener's office wouldn't send them the information they requested. They said that they would open the review up again if the doctor's office would send them the information. This was about 3 weeks ago. I have called several times since then. But, the insurance gal is always off or too busy to take my call. Now I have less than 1 month until my insurance runs out. Dr. Weiner's office wasted 3 months of my time. As a result, I will have to pay out of pocket for what probably could have been covered by my insurance. My experience with Dr. Weiner's office was an expensive one. Because of the poor office staff, I can't say what kind of doctor Dr. Weiner is. :-("
