Apr 14, 2008

Hello, All

A lot has happen over the last few month.  I am down to a size 6/7 and I look and feel great.  I walk with so much pride now, my attitude is contagious.  Always remembering to humble myself and give all the glory to God; for answering all my prayers.

In meeting other young ladies that are questioning whether or not to have the surgery.  I explain the various types of procedures and advice them to do exactly what they want to do and don't get deterred by other's comment.

I miss chatting with everyone and I hope you all have a good day, evening and night.

Pounds Off/Avon Start-Up

Hello, Everyone

I am down to 140 lbs as of last month.  Incredible!  I have so much energy that I can hardly contain myself.  It is great to feel so good.  I will need another follow-up within the next two weeks.  Don't forget protein.  My protein level was 11 when last tested and I was told it should be at least 17.  So, I have got to get back to drinking.

Talk with you all soon.  Do you love Avon!  I sure do, please support my new Avon business.

Thanks for all your for your support.

Under 160 Pounds

Well all it's been a while since I have posted.  The weight came off so fast that I can hardly believe it.  I am not wearing 9/10 clothing sizes.  A little over one month ago I weighed in at 160; so of course I weigh less now.  I try not to focus on how much I weigh by getting on the scale.

I continue to work and I am at the end of my 6 months probation with the Sacarmento County Probation.

All is good and I am looking great!

Went to my second follow-up appointment on Tuesday; by the way Monday the 23rd  was my 40th birthday.  Weighed in at 187, when I first found out how much I weighed, can you believe it I was scared.  It has only been a little less than 3 months and I went from 245 down to 187.  The doctor asked how did I do it.  Isn't that funny with surgery of course.  Smiles.  I was given another follow-up appointment for August and told I should have blood work done on May 3rd; which will be my three month post-op.  The doctor will be checking protein, iron, calcium, B-12 and a few others for deficiencies to see if I am lacking in any area.

To be honest with  you I don't know how it came off so fast.  I eat sometimes three times a day; around maybe 4-5 small bites of food.  I drink as much as possible, I do need to get up to 64 oz of fluids; but I am sure I am drinking at least  48 oz; other than that I take all my vitamins; with the exception that I do need to concentrate more on my protein drink.  I told the doctor that I sometimes enjoy drinking Crystal Lite with real lemons.  Big no, no!  I am to stay away from citrus fruits.  I didn't know but I am well informed now.  I will check with the doctors office tomorrow to see when can I resume eating lettuce and how long do go without a straw.  I am assuming the straw maybe for at least a year.

Each month is a different experience.  I tend to get sick if I attemp eating anything with food.  I tried chicken adobe on last Saturday, two small bites and I was sick.  A friend cooked it for me; but I believe it had too much grease.  I would have thought she would boil the chicken; however it didn't look like it once I took a second glanced.

I am now engaged as of Saturday April 21st.  I will marry next August.  So many good things are happening.  Life is good.  If I could only figure out how to rush my 16 year old, turning 17 next month through the Teen-age years life would be awesome.  LOL

Until Later My Friends. " Keep thinking pounds be gone".

Look At The Weight Drop!

Mar 17, 2007

Hello, All

I am on to another size.  I have lost a total of 28 pounds.  I now weigh 205.  Can you believe that.  I work out as often as I can; sometimes I am tired after working and I utilize the dining room table and walk around it for 30 minutes.  I started working out at 24 hour fitness on yesterday.  I did 30 minutes on the treadmill, 60 sit-ups and the pull-up bar.  I must say that my stomach felt sick afterwards.   So, I think I should slowly introduce sit-ups.

On last evening I went to the hospital; because I had a little burning when urinating.  I have a Urinary Tract infection.  I read the material on causes and I believe I was dehydrated.  I have felt so thirsty on this last week.  So, I spent the day drinking as much water as I can.

Further, I must concentrate on taking all of my vitamins and drink my liquid protein.  This week has been an off week for me.  My son started baseball on Tues, Thurs and Saturday; so after work I have been trying to get to practice.  During the day I am so busy at work that I forget to take my vitamins and drink fluids.  Next week I will do better.

Until  next time.  Weight Be Gone, Smiles.

First weight Lost

Feb 17, 2007

Lost 12 pounds this first week!

I am so excited.  I started out at 245, the day of surgery I was down to 233 and now after one week 221.  Went to my first post-op appointment and everything is going well.  I explained to my doctor that when I drink regular bottled water it hurts when going down.  I assumed there was something wrong.  Dr. Juarez confirmed that many patients have the same problem keeping down even bottle water; such as myself.  My doctor advised to switch to Propel.  It worked!  I don't have any problems with Propel (Lemon).  I don't particularly care for the other flavors.

Also, this week should be clear liquids; but let me be honest I have had maybe four bits of eggs for breaks, twice this week and I have been fine.  I am not saying for anyone to try this after surgery; however the clear liquid after a few days just seemed to make me feel sick.  On to pureed on Monday.  Yes!  Other than that I have not been too hungry and many times I have to remember to try to eat; however if I don't have the urge I simply just drink water and protein shakes.

I am on my way to a new me.  I walk each day and I am trying to rest more.  I find that many days I am just beat.  I try to drive the kids, clean, walk, help with homeworks and afterwads my body is exhausted physically. An RN told me I should be resting from the very beginning.  So, I rest whether I am sleepy or tired.

Finally, I got the word from the County.  I should be starting my new position on next week.  God is truly blessing me.

Until, next week ladies keep thinking weight lost.

Well, it's been a week since my surgery and I am feeling fine.

I arrived home on last Wednesday evening; after being discharged from the hospital with my insist as early as 10 a.m.  I was eagered to get out of the hospital and home to my children. My boyfriend of 8 months stayed at the hospital during my entire stay, he took one week off to be there.

The first evening I stopped by my moms to pick up my son.  Once home I put on my pajamas and put away food.  Nothing heavy; however I felt like I had a tone of energy.  Later that evening I watched movie. I slept a short time and I awaken around 3:45 a.m.; so I decided to go over my son's weekly packet assigned to him while I was in the hospital.  I stayed up until 7:30 a.m. and woke to give him a morning breakfast bar and juice.  Took a nap from 10 until 1 maybe.  Started taking my vitamins right away.  I read that it is best to not take them all at one time.

On Thursday I drove my daughter to school at 10 a.m and later that day it rained so she called for a ride home.  During that same evening I cooked French foods for my 10 year old Heritage project:  Crepes, Pastry Puffs and ready made Croissant; but I added cheesecake filling on the inside and out.  I was so tired afterwards; however I sat on the couch and watched television with my boyfriend until my son's bed time.  I slept that evening until; between 4 or 5 a.m.

Friday once awaken  I went downstairs to walk around my kitchen table for around 20 minutes as my boyfriend took my son to school . I had a job interview at 12:30 noon. I picked my son up from school at 2 p.m.  Aroundt 3:30 p.m. I left to take my 16 year  to a clothing store to look for a coat; then on to drop her off at work (Chuck E' Cheese).  On to Petco for crickets for my two gecko lizards. Futher, I decided to take my son;  because it was raining to the movies.  We saw, "Norbit" with Eddie Murphy.  When I laughed it didn't hurt but it was kind of sore; but I couldn't help it.  Lastly, I went to a Chinese restaurant and bought Wonton Soup and on home to rest.

Saturday, I allowed my daughter to drive to work to prepare for her driver's test. Can I say boy, I will be glad when that part is over, lol (Kinda' nerve wrecking). Went to the 99 cent store, Raley's grocery store; then home.  My son was a blessing he did all the picking up and carrying groceries to the car.

On Sunday I started walking at the park.
I walked for 40 minutes; of course very slowly.  I was really tired when done; so I will try doing some sort of exercise for  20-30  minutes only.  Cooked lunch; but nothing much else.

So this is my first week of Post-Op

You won't be blogged down with this much information in the future.  Smiles
