My hubby's soooooooo sweet...

Jul 08, 2007

I could just dump off him!  HA HA!  I just had to share my appreciation and love for my DH who's been the greatest cheerleader a gal could ask for.  Through this whole crazy journey, he's been here with me patiently.   A note for the pre-ops out there...having a strong support system is crucial to your success especially the first few months out.  Whether it be your spouse, a family member, a friend or OH please make sure you surround yourself with good positive people as you embark on the ride of your life.  If you ever feel like you can't find someone like that, don't despair...CALL ME!  I'll be here to cheer you on and share in your every WOW moment.  Wishing you all the support and hope I possibly can and here to remind you that you are doing the very best thing to become the very best you!

Starbucks Rules!

Mar 20, 2007

Before surgery, I couldn't stand drinking coffee.  For some reason, one day I happened to try it to see if Oscar, my grouchy pouchy, would like it.  Guess what, HE LOVES IT!  I have to have at least one cup a day to keep him happy.  Thank goodness for Starbucks!
Maybe this video will give you some insight on my coffee addiction!  Enjoy a good laugh!  Btw, my hubby made me do it!

Welcome to TWOTERVILLE!  It's been about 10 years since I've weighed anything under 300 pound so pardon me if I rejoice and break out into a silly song.  Take a looksie and enjoy a good laugh!

Table or Booth! Oh the choices!

Feb 16, 2007

So today my hubby and I went out to dinner at Applebee's.  For as long as I can remember we've always had to ask for a table cuz I couldn't fit in the booth.  Well today, that's all that was available and guess what??? I FIT!!! I even had room to breathe and my boobs weren't resting on the table!  It was AMAZING!  The best part...my hubby was saying we're too far apart so he came over and sat next to me!  Two people sitting on one booth with plenty of cuddle room and extra room on the sides!  Oh, I ate soooo well!  What a great night!  Just had to share

WOW Moment of the Week!

Jan 11, 2007

So after being cooped up at home for 3 weeks I decided it was time to start living again.  I woke up this morning.  Had my vitamins and protein shake, got all dolled up (in jeans that no longer fit me!) and went to school to see my students.  It was awesome to see them again.  Those little rascals really have my heart.  So after catching up and hearing all these wonderfully uplifting compliments from my coworkers I decided to treat myself to some new clothes before I go back to work next week.  I went to the Avenue, my favorite big girl store!  The whole store was on sale and I was in heaven!  I had been going through shopping withdrawals!  I found the nicest pair of navy/white pinstripe capris and fell in love.  They only had 32, 30, 28, 24, and 18.  I wanted them, but was afraid of what size to get.  I've been size 32 so long that I just couldn't bear to think I was still in that size.  Well, something told me "Grab the 24!"  I went to the dressing room and guess what, THEY FIT!!! YEah!  I went from a 32 to a 24.  It is truly the most amazing feeling.  I ended up buying 4 more size 24 pants and even one size 22!  My shirts still need room for the sistas so I bought a 26/28, though 22/24 fit.  I just had to share.  Sorry it's so long!  Here's to more shopping excursions!

My First "Mile"stone!

Jan 07, 2007

So I am 2 weeks post op and today I did something that I have NEVER done before. I energetically walked 1 mile without getting completely winded or quitting for that matter! WOW! What an amazing feeling it was. I actually could have kept going, but I got to my destination. To think that 2 weeks ago I could not have done this. I'm so excited. Next stop, 2 Miles! YEA ME! Here's to all our "Mile"stones!

Week 2

Jan 02, 2007

Happy New Year!  Happy New ME!  So here I am 2 weeks out and feeling great.  So far since November I've lost a total of 61 pounds (27 pounds post op).  I had a minor slip up on Saturday, but I'm back on track.  The only problem I seem to be having is getting in all of my protein and water.  I just get so full.  I keep walking everyday and keeping a positive attitude helps.  My Demondy is so great to me!  He went back to work this week so I miss his company, but life has to move forward.  It was great having him at home.  Now it's up to me to stay on top of my medicines.  I am just spoiled!  Well I just wanted to update everyone on my progress.  It's a journey with ups and downs, but well worth the trip!  Wishing you all a very wonderful 2007 full of lost pounds!  Here's to a happier, healthier all of us!
