I am 2 1/2 months post-op. I cannot believe how fast the time has gone by.

I was only in the hospital for two days. No complications whatsoever. Dr. Stahl said I was a "textbook case". The first few days at home were not fun. I stayed by myself which was no problem. I had a JP drain in my left side and boy, was it ever a pain! About the third night home I caught the tube on the doorknob. OUCH!!!

At my one week check-up I had lost 25 pounds! I was ecstatic. Dr. Stahl released me to eating whatever I felt like I could handle. He told me about the protein I needed to get and the water and to watch fats and sugars. I've slowly been adding foods back to my diet. Lean Cuisines and other dinners were a real life saver at first. Now I'm eating lots of chicken and fish. Sometimes I tolerate beef, other times not.

I am now 2 /12 months out and have lost 96 pounds! I haven't been as steady with my excercise as I would like to be. It is SO hot this summer! I will do better.

This Friday, August 18, I see Dr. Stahl for my three month visit. The only problems I have had have been with dizziness, and one or two fainting spells. Nothing dramatic - just a couple of seconds. The nurses assure me this is my body adjusting to a massive calorie reduction and a super fast weight loss.

I must say, I don't think I would have been nearly as successful without the wonderful folks on the Alabama Board. These folks have patiently answered every question I have posed, offered me encouragement and support and cheered my for all my successes. They are awesome!
