I am a 37 yr. old mom of 2. I had not really considered surgery much at all until just a couple of months ago. I am now considering the Sleeve. I have submitted for insurance approval, but I am almost certain that my policy will exclude it. Keeping my fingers crossed.... IF my insurance approves it, I will probably select a doctor that is fairly close to me, as there are several with excellent reputations. If my insurance does not approve it, I am slightly considering going to Mexico to have it done. So research, research, research!! That is what I am doing until I find out. Hopefully this summer I will get to place myself on the loser's bench!! :-)
Most of my adult life I have been overweight. I have had success at losing large amounts of weight, only to put it back on with a little extra to go with it. Then it comes back with a vengence in places I never had it before. Currently my weight is at an all time high!
My dad had RNY Jan '05 and has lost 300 lbs. One of my sisters had it done Sept '08 and has lost 90 lbs. My mom could probably stand to have it. She is borderline diabetic. My other sister has already said she will have it when she can afford it.
