"The overall staff, Physician and team of Dr. Juliet Holder-Haynes mean BUSINESS when it comes down to Weight Loss Surgery. She is caring, Dedicated and BRILLIANT! From the very first day I had the relaxing knowledge that I would be in experienced and skilled hands. Dr. Juliet Holder-Haynes gave me high fives when I had succes, she pointed out areas that I needed to work harder in (with gentle ease) and she was consistently available when I needed assistance. The icing on the cake is the AMAZING, STUNNING, AND just PHENOMENAL dietician, Renee Barron...who was my #1 Cheeleader the whole way towards the surgery. I had to lose 10% of my body weight prior to the actual surgery. How scary! When all I knew was to stuff my face, and GAIN. But Dr. Holder-Haynes simply looked me in the EYE, and with this powerful reassurance stated, "YOU CAN DO IT." And I knew I could. I just knew it with the way she said it.
To prove my point, the dietician met with me once a month, and helped me with many points (especially accountability!!)...and I lost 72 POUNDS prior to the actual surgery date. WHAT AN AMAZING ACCOMPLISHMENT--by God's Grace, I humbly "Survived" the 2 week fast, and proved to myself that I am dedicated to this healthy, new lifestyle!
The actual surgery went just fine. I woke up and was walking the same day. I was told by Dr. Holder-Haynes' Resident that the stomach doesn't feel, or register, pain the same way that other organs do--and He was right! The pain was only around a 7, and it was at the incision sites. The only HUGE negative that I can say about this whole experice is the horrific daytime nurses that I had to deal with. They were just...SIGH, deplorable. Screaming down the halls, rude, attidudes, disrespectful, and overall immature. Not professionals at all. I won't waste my time going on about their specific acts, as I would like to block it out. The nighttime nurses at Park Plaza were GREAT! But if you end up with a lady name Magdelene or Glenda...Ask for a new nurse IMMEDIATELY. Just horrific. Thank God it was only 3 days of insults.
I have been obese since Childhood---and it is through God's Grace, and Dr. Holder-Haynes Reassurance, the loving education and guidance of Reness Barron, and the staff that I am on a new life road!!! THANK YOU GOD!!!!"
