Hi all! I had my staples removed 11/7 (9 days out) & had lost a total of 19 lbs!!! I could hardly believe it. Now it really does seem possible. Best wishes & keep on losing to all of you!......Karen

I went to see Karen yesterday. She was in some pain, but hanging in there. She's really strong and went in with a Great attitude. I am so happy for her. I know she will be a success. She is a truely beautiful person both inside and out.

I called the hospital about 2:30 and Karen came through her surgery very well. She doesnt even have a drain tube. My husband Keith and I are going to visit her tomorrow morning so I will update then.

October 27, 2001 Saturday: I am really excited about this new journey. My surgery is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 29 at 10:15am. I am having open RNY. Even though this has been a stressful process, it hasn't been unpleasant. Everyone I have been involved with has been great. I would do it again in a heart beat. I will be on my new journey soon to a more fulfilling life. My sister, Susan, told me to repeat this mantra to myself at least once and hour or more: "I will become vibrantly healthy and radiantly beautiful". Now isn't that something. I hope it works..LOL! I want all of you to know that we are all special and deserve this gift from God. We are worth it. Many of us do not get to hear this as often as we should. Just remember how precious you are and that your life is just as valuable as anyone elses. Best wishes to all of you!
