I'm 30 years old, married with 3 children. I underwent lap. surgery on April 8, 2004 and chose to have the lap-band. I live in Mass and had my surgery at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington by Dr. Brams. I am doing very well went from 253 to 206. Now I'm considered "over weight" LOL! I am so happy with my decision and was approved through my insurance right away. The weight loss is not super fast but I am learning to eat right and have great restriction with no side effects so far. I can't wait to meet my mini goal of under 200lbs which I haven't seen in almost 9 years.
10/10/2005-OK, I finally made my mini goal I now weigh 197lbs and I am so excited. I went in for my 5th fill of .4 so I'm now at 2.2cc in a 4cc band. I feel incredible, I have also gone from a size 24 pant to a size 16. I'll check back in next month.
04/18/2006- I had another fill almost two weeks ago of .3 which brings me to 2.5, I have good restriction and have been more consistent with my exercise. I now weight 183 which is just amazing I am now only 33lbs away form my original goal of 150. I see my nutritionist today she likes to see me two weeks after each fill to make sure my food choices are excellent. Well I'll try and check back in this summer.
6/15/2006-I still feel great since my last posting and fill. I had a Dr.'s appointment last week and we deceided that a fill still wasn't necessary so I am still at 2.5 with great restriction. I am happy to say I now weigh 172 now only 22lbs away from goal. No complications, no reflux I am very happy and feel great. I still workout 6-7 days a week plus 3 days of weights. I actually spoke to my nurse about a tt for next summer.
8/22/2007-I'm still at goal. Consulted with my plastic surgeon and she agrees that I am a good canidate for a TT. Since I teach I will have to wait until next summer, I can't wait. Hopefully insurance will help me out a little.
6/23/2008-I'm still at goal, I got my TT today. Insruance paid for my Panni removal and I paid $3,000 for the rest (muscle tightening, mons area and skin above belly button. She removed almost 10lbs of skin and besides an awefu reaction to my tape adhesive I am thrilled with my results.
3/10/2010-Still at Goal! Haven't needed a fill in years. I love my band and we have our 6 yr anniversary coming up soon lol. I still love my results from my TT and will someday like to have my upper thighs done.
2/24/2011-Still at Goal LOL and no fill since 2006. I can't believe it will be 7 yrs soon. I check back here every year just to update but life is so busy! Love being healthy and a perfect size 12.
