well, i see it's been 3 years since my last post. where DOES the time go? the short version-complications out the wazoo! ulcer, stricture, bowel obstruction, radiologist f****d up my ulcer tube, pulled my stomach away from abdominal wall, pierced it with the guide wire, developed a MRSA infection in my old stomach, 4 surgeries in 5 weeks, dh thought i was going to die TWICE, didn't eat anything for 2 solid months, lost too much weight too quickly, looked like hell . don't remember 4 months of my life save my son's 17th birthday, constant pain.BUT since recovery i worked at GM Lordstown for 5 months and went down to a size 6, looked like i had cancer again, spent a summer on unemployment, got to enjoy my new grandson, and still do,got a new job ,am abundantly blessed, got back up to a comfortable size 12, stayed there since december '09 and am doing great! exceot for the searing pain in my puoch that i think my be from cinnimon crunch bagels with lowfat cream cheese from panera. i know, i know ishouldn't be eating them, but they are my only guilty pleasure. won't eat them for a while to see if that's the true culprit.. all is fine, all is good. glad, now, that i did it, bur whew! what a bumpy ride. blessings to all,kate

my surgery was 7-24-2007. things were going VERY well, sure i was sore, but just about everyone is right after surgery.the dr said the surgery went smoothly with no problems. St Joe's hospital has some of the finest care in ne ohio. i've been in all the hospitals in this are including the Cleveland Clinic, but the nursing staff at st. joes's is top notch. and i made sure i told them so every chance i had.
    i went home on thursday7-26-2007. smooth sailing until sat. afternoon. i had drunk something and i thought i was becoming lactose intolerant. diareah, profuse sweating, rapid heartbeat. THOUGHT I WAS GONNA DIE! i called the dr. and he said he couldn't be sure what it was. either wait it out or go to the er.

okay i have about 31 hours until surgery and am getting antsy.i'm getting my house in order so that it will be nice when i get home. i've talked to all my kids, except my 19 year old son who left for vacation without even telling me goodbye. that's another post.but the rest of them are supportive and will be there if i need them! i hope everyone else having surgery on the 24 th will do well. i'll say prayers for all of us.  love you guys!!   kate

only one more week to go! i can't believe it. i'm getting a little anxious and from time to time wonder if i'm doing the right thing. but i know that i am. i have faith in dr. woodruff and in God, that's really all i need. i hope everyone going to surgery soon will be well and have a quick recovery.

i received approval for my surgery 2 days after it was submitted and got a date of july 24, 2007! now it seems real.
