I chose Bariatric Surgery after several years of health issues with Lupus, and Fibromyalgia, (and many years of steroids for the Lupus).

I have lived with severe chronic pain for years, and I decided with the help of my fabulous physician Dr. Linda Bullock, that this was an option for me. I did several medical weight management programs, and was unsuccessful. I had a consultation with Dr. Kris Dumon and was happy with the program at PENN. It has taken about 17 months to get all this done, approved and scheduled, and I am ready!

One statistic that stood out to me was that I have a 1% chance of dying from ANY surgery and a 50% chance of dying young from Obesity related illness.

I have a wonderful group of physicians, that coordinate my care and a loving group of family, friends and super supportive co-workers and employers.

I am looking forward to living a more healthful and long life.
