I went to my PCP today for pre-op clearance.  It went well. To my amazement, my cholesterol was good but my triglycerides were high. My vitamin D was low so she told me to supplement it with extra Vitamin D. No more diet soda for me. I think it interferes with the absorption of vitamin d in the body. I had my two multivitamins plus 1200mg of calcium with 400 IU of vitamin D.

Got a wealth of info in regards to the surgery from Wanda and Annette. I found them to be very helpful. Wanda seems like one of those people who will "fight like hell" for you. I have my surgical consultation with Dr. Genaw on March 4th. I will be going to get my pre-op labs, chest x-ray and EKG done tomorrow.

Had my psych exam on Monday and found out I was approved five days later. I've heard that it can take up to a month for approval. I'm very excited and received my authorization number from HAP to see Dr. Genaw.

Found out this past week that I am mediccaly approved by the insurance company to have bariatric surgery. I received my confirmation number to go see the psychologist and made that appointment also. I am also going to see Dr. Singh at one of the Henry Ford Medical centers regarding a consultation for a sleep study. I'm nervious, anxious, happy, scared etc.
