Hello all,
I’m a 31 year old single female, I guess like most on this site I have weight problem for as long as I can remember. In High School I was between a size 14 and 16 after during my college years the weight really kick in. I started this process last year in September 2006, I attended one of Dr. Titus Duncan Seminar. I completed all the required step that was necessary for an approval. After some turmoil I was finally approve in January 02, 2007.
My highest weight 285!!!I was schedule for surgery on April 09, 2007. I had surgery everything went fine I think the worst part was doing the swallowing test to check for leaks. No leaks yea!!! Came home the next day after surgery that’s when the pain really kick in I finished all the med I was giving.
Today is April 13, 2007 feeling much better still having gas pain, taking my Gas-ex still sore. Hoping to get out tomorrow. Although right now is just my mind fighting with me for food. I’m not hungry at all I been trying to get my water in, 2 spoons of jello fill me up. For lunch and dinner have a couple of spoons of broth. Sometime popsicles really yumi!!! Well I wonder if I’m the only one that’s battling with my mind about the things I can’t have right will eventually can but in moderation. I just thank God for this opportunity and I don’t want to blow it. Talk yall soon.
April 15, 2007, starting stage two for breakfast I had fat free milk mix it with instant breakfast carnation I had about two ounce of that. For lunch I had about one broil eggs which was a little to much I shouldn’t have eat all the eggs imagine that!! Lol for dinner I had about two ounce of whey protein shake. I’m still trying to drink my fluid is hard. I’m doing ok for now. April 24, I have my first follow up. Talk to yall soon!!
I have my one month post of visit on Friday May 11, 2007 25 lbs lost for the past two weeks the scale did not move, I guess that was partly my fault I was not doing well with my protein once I started adding in my 60 grams of shake including my meal the scale kick off gain whoopee!! Well the nurse say I was doing well and I was on target with my weigh lost!! Until next time. Thanks obesity help!! And thanks for all the wonderful advice I recive!!1 love you all!!!

Well today I went to my support group meeting and had a weigh in scales show 2lbs gain I’m not sure how that happen, afterwards I spoke with the nurse and explained to her what I have been doing she suggested perhaps is water retention also watch my carbohydrates intake. I guess the carb is coming from how I’m mixing in my protein with a little fruit juice and milk with contains to much carb. I got so completely depress about it almost broke into tears, my emotions got all wild and out of controls. This time around I couldn’t turn to food god knows I felt like I wanted to so bad to take away the pain. Instead I went to GNC to see if I can get a different types of protein I ask the gentlemen he suggested for gastric bypass patient ISOPURE was the best with zero carbs, they had the already made one different flavors also the powder mix, so I decided to try the already made one for now one serving 20 ounces 40 grams of protein, the powder mix contains 50 gram of protein. I might go for the powder mix next time although I think I might prefer to stick with the different flavor because it feels like I’m getting in water and protein at the same time. I went to check my mail and saw a flyer for this new gym that just open down the street from my house LA kick boxing is a fully equip gym the membership include kick boxing classes I’m so ready I start next week , I making a 3X a week commitment to start with hopefully gradually add in more days once I get into the groove. I think the adjustment I decided to make will really help with the weight loss. I know you guys are probably thinking relax is just 2 lbs; 2lbs is a big deal when I can’t even finish a two ounce meal. Verses to when I use to over eat before surgery that would have been expected but this time around I put on weight when I can’t even eat a all lot. I guess is all part of the course for some of us. Well folks please keep me on your prayer. With determination I know I will be successful surgery is not a quick fix is a great tool that work with you if you work with it. Talk to you all soon.

Just having a very bad day depress most of all I guess I’m coming up on my three months post op on July 9th as you know by I choose to weigh in once a month when I attend support group meeting or when I go to DR’s appt. I guess you can called it fear!! Of the scale that I might not like the result!!! ever since the 2lbs episode. Well my depression is coming from feeling that I’m not loosing enough or anymore. Well OH family pray for me I have my appt next week Thursday for three months post op I will update again I figure I need to get over my fear I need to purchase a scale, I will do so after my DR’s visit, I will purchase one that read the same as my Surgeon office. By the way I’m still following the rules doing everything I’m suppose too I guess that’s what so frustrating to me. Oh well enough self pity for now until next time. Kay. That’s what was causing the abdominal pain the DR. suggested that I do the same fleet cleanse I did prior to surgery to clean my colon. And I should be ok. I did that the other day I feel 100% better pain gone. Thank you Lord Thank you all for the support. Kay. August 18, 2007 Hello OH family. Hello to my OH family well today I had my three months post op visit I’ve lost in total 45lbs. According to the nurse I’m doing fine. I discuss with her my concerns regarding the slow weigh loss she said that my weigh loss is within a very healthy range. Not to worry the weight will come off. I’m still very grateful, I’ve never been able to loose 45lbs on my own the most I’ve ever lost was 20lbs and that took three months or more I normally get frustrated by then and give up lol! So this time around I have a tool working for me. I’ll just have to be patient!! easier said then done. I will update soon with new pics well on a good note I’m getting tons of compliments that feel good. Until next time Kay.

Hello OH, Starting Monday after having a bowel movement I started having some abdominal pain on my left side, I thought is was gas / and took some gas ex thought it would go away if I give it sometime as days goes by the pain did not lessen so I call my surgeon office on Thursday they immediately ask me to come in. I was seeing they ordered a CT scan for today 8/3/07, I was told if my pain worsen to take myself to the ER, in the mean time they would not give me anything, I was told not take anything until the test result came back which will be either Monday or Early Tuesday they will then see what’s going on, but they are thinking is bowel obstruction and scar tissue. In the mean time I’m just seating tight and praying my pain don’t worsen anymore. Until the surgeon office get back to me.
