Wow, where to start?!? My name is Kimberly, I am thirty years old and have been married for almost 10 years. I have 2 beautiful daughters (Aryanna 8 and Kyleigh 2 1/2) who light up my life. I have been overweight since I was 6 years old. I have tried every diet in the book, losing up to 75lbs, but I always fell off the wagon eventually. A few years ago, one of my aunts had gastric bypass and I considered it at the time, but decided that at 26 years old I wasn't sure I wanted a surgery that was so invasive. And my weight kept rising... In 2007 my mother had gastric bypass surgery and I again decided it wasn't the right path for me. And my weight kept rising... Then one day in mid 2008 I found out that the LapBand was covered by my insurance. I did tons of reading and everything really clicked with me. I attended the seminar and left that room knowing that my life had just turned a major corner. I have been so very lucky to go through this process with my very best friend, my sister, Carley. My surgery was on 2/2/2009 and hers is in 2/17/2009. I know that I am ready for this new path! I have already lost about 20lbs, just in the 2 weeks since I started my pre-op diet. I am so glad to have the support of this site and all of the wonderful people who post on the boards.
