Weight Loss Journey...

Mar 17, 2009

Well.....I feel like I've been fighting my weight for most of my adult life. I'm 5'4 and weighed about 125 when I got married in 1987. Two kids and my love of cooking and eating started to get he best of me around 14 years ago.My weight is now 209. UGH. That's a lot on my small frame.
I have tried Weight Watchers 3 times, twice with meetings and once on-line, L.A Weight Loss, Phen Phen,( that was good stuff, lost 30 lbs in 3 months) Atkins, Low Fat, Hypnotism, etc, etc. I just wanna be a normal size, to be able to go into a store and pick up a cute pair of jeans and know they have a chance of fitting. I'm sick of being the biggest girl in the room, and summer at the beach! Forget about it!
I recently found out I have gone into early menopause, I'm only 45 and had a good idea since no period for about 5 years, lots of hot flashes extra hormone issues and the thickening around my middle that would not budge. So knowing that know has explained the extra low metabolism in the past few years. I also have high cholesterol and I believe sleep apnea. My insurance has approved me for the testing for sleep apnea so I will be doing that on Friday. I also have a lot of joint pain and a fatty liver and a bone spur in one of my heals. Blah Blah Blah. I'm sure everyone has heard it all before and  I'm just hoping that it might be enough for the insurance company to approve me.
Oh and I have Diverticulitis and just had my 4th episode over the weekend and had to spend 3 days in the hospital. Since this is my 4th episode I might have to have surgery to have the infected part removed. I'm thinking maybe the Dr. could do the surgery and throw a Lap Band in there at the same time.
