Hi Everyone my name is Carol and I'm 60 years old. I have been heavy for the last 35 years. I have been on so many diets like everyone else in the universe. I have tried them all. I would lose then gain every pound plus. This is my last resort. I need to do this for my health. I've had the blood pressure, sleep apnea, diabetes II, degenerative disk disease and a bad knee. I've got to do this so I can be around for my kids, grand kids and I now have a great grandson. I want my health and life back. I want to be able to play with my grandkids and great grandson. I want to be more active again. I've been going to 6 months worth of classes before I can have the surgery. I'm about 1/3 of the way through the classes. Then I'll probably have to fight the insurance company but I am ready for that fight. I hope to gain a lot of friends here and build some lasting friendships through this journey.
I can't wait to have the surgery. I'll be going to Pacific Barriactric in San Diego. All my blood work has been done for them.

My authorization was sent by fax 8-14-07 and I was approved 8-16-07. I am so excited. I'll know my date the week of 8-20-07. I can't wait. I thought I would have to fight the insurance BUT I DON'T YEAH!!!!!!!!!!

I got my surgery date finally. My surgery will be 9-25-07. I am so excited.

Today I asked ThatKimGirl (Kim) if she would be my Angel. She said she would. I'm so happy. I've got an angel and my surgery date. What more can you ask for?

It's been a while since I've posted. Tomorrow we are leaving for San Diego. I'll rest tomorrow and Monday I have pre op at 1:30 to 5:30pm. then Tuesday is my surgery day. It's really going to happen. I am so excited. Everyone on the OH boards have been so supportive. These people are the greatest friends.

We are leaving for San Diego. I'm so excited and a little scared at the same time. Well we have arrived at our hotel. We are going out to dinner tonight. I'll have to make sure I watch what I eat so I don't gain any weight. We went to Anthony's and it was wonderful. I had lobster. Yummy!!
9-24-07
Today I have my pre op appointment and I'm on liquids all day. I took my dose of Milk of Magnesia YUK!!!! They weighed us and I had lost 10 more lbs since my Dr.'s appt. even eating out the night before at Anthony's. Yeah!!!.

Today is the day of surgery. I didn't sleep too well last night. Everything went great.They got me up by 5pm to walk that wasn't too bad.
